well he would have done 10 time better than the Dud(e) if he had a VE as well, probably the reason he didn't get a VE.

Let me get this right..

The rich bloke who payz the bills wants to chuck a bloke who he payz big buckz to drive, for someone else.

The rich bloke owns the cars, the team, and is related to the sponsor. And is still paying the young fellah who drove the early part of the season.

Surely that means the rich bloke can do as he damn well pleases?

I agree, totally crazy decision! Don't get me wrong, I think Owen is quite a decent steerer, but he has never raced on the streets of Surfers before! Why on earth didn't he give the ride to Steve Ellery? Steve has already driven this car this year, and he always does well at Indy. Or is there bad blood after Bathurst??

Mr O.Kelly has a long history with the Morris team, in SuperTouring, and running in the 2nd Big Kev car at Bathurst.

Its not a surprise for him to be linked to the ride...

...but I wonder if it is a path towards securing Mr Kelly for the second seat and/or second Sirromet/SuperCheap car for the enduros in 2008 and beyond?

That's all well and good (and good for Owen's future), but you have to admit, it's a big call to throw him at the Surfers track for the first time in the old clunker..

Mr O.Kelly got in the ex-BJR "old clunker" at Oran Park, and streeted the field...

It is a huge call... getting the car to go quick enough to qualify will be a challenge, and not just for this chassis (looks towards the black Holdens)

I think his attempt to take out the boss at QLD pretty much lost him a chance at a full time drive.

racer69.......My sentiments exactly..........Fabians backers were probably relying on PMM having to run FC for free in order to comply with their Franchise obligation........Any businessman would have rocks in their head to turn down equal talent bringing good money........Tuf on Fabian but hey thats business.

I bet Fabian Coulthard is sitting back with a smirk on his face at the moment... it seems neither of the Morris weapons are....ummm...weapons at the moment - oh hang on, Steve Owen is just outside the top 10! I dont think Fabian would have been 3.4 off the leaders. Clearly 39 and 67 are struggling atm.
