Well!
I got my regional BMMC newsletter yesterday and guess what? NO GP VOLUNTEERING FORM!
There was, however, a membership renewal form for 2004!

I think you will find the national copy will be landing on your door mat in the next week. Not sure if it has the form in it but I expect it will.

Chezza,

As the MSA are desperatly short of marshals for the GP, why not volunteer anyway.

You might end up as a spectator marshal, but you wont have pay to watch

Is it just me not being observant (trainee observer material there then!), or is the bit about applying even if you haven't done the 15 days due to "exceptional circumstances" new on the form for this year?

Chezza, if you've done plenty of meetings this year, and are progressing with getting your grading signatures then try it. Like Mark says, I think it'll be all volunteers considered again for next year.

I got two in the last week, so if anybody's short of one...

Pretty sure I won't be going, though.

Chezza, I would go for it and apply. When I sent my form into the BRSCC last season I was still a trainee although I did have all my signatures, they accepted me so it's worth a try.

>Does anyone know if there's the slightest chance that the BMMC mag might appear soon, with the relevent form included?

BMMC South West region members got their magazine and BGP volunteering form at end of last week, and it's the first time I've ever seen the form. Shame I'm in no fit state to be able to do a GP anymore!

Despite having not done a days marshalling this year, I am tempted to send in a volunteering form just to see if I get picked.

My understanding is that forms with insufficient days are screened out by the clubs and the MSA - except where there is an accompanying explanation of why the marshal has done insufficient days ie family commitments, work, sickness etc.

Also Chezza - don't forget that it's days that are relevant not meetings.
