Ah, yes, with you. I think it is a 68 car, so yes Historic Road Sports, not 70's Road Sports (my mistake!).

Race 8 - Moss-Europe BCV8 (Race 2)

19 starters; 17 finishers

The second race for these cars, over 20 minutes, and I've tried to include some of the cars that didn't appear in my race 1 review.

Paul Sibley (96) again made a great start and took the lead, and Joe Parrington (87 - see pic 1) got ahead of race 1 winner Adrian Beer (97) to briefly hold 2nd. Pic 2 shows Howard Grundon (18 - BV8 GT) and Steve Okines (9 - B roadster) early on and they stayed in this order to the end finishing 11th and 12th, although by that time Grundon had established a gap. Shane Terry leans his B roadster enthusiastically through the Russell chicane on his way to 10th. 58 is Class B winner, Ian Prior in his B roadster who finished 5th overall behind four V8s. Having dispensed with Parrington quickly, Beer went after Sibley but, unlike the first race, Sibley's resistance was much stouter and it was many laps before Beer found a way passed, but pass he did (see pic 5) and he then built up a lead to cross the chequered flag 6.2 seconds ahead. Simon Cripps (46 - B roadster) had this 'off' but continued to finish 9th.

Sponsored by Drayton Manor Park, this isn't what most would call historic racing, although I guess Metros are pretty old by now. When was the last one made? So just a short post to cover this 20 minute race. The race was a runaway victory for Paul Ashton, winning by nearly 23 seconds. 2nd was disputed for a while but Tony Howe's turbo version (7 see - pic 1) was passed by James Dunkley (69 - see pic 2) and held it to the end. Pic 3 shows David Heasman locking up on his way to 11th. Pic 4 shows the winner, whilst 10 is Miles Gentle who finished 13th. Last pic is of Thomas Sanderson (19) who retired.
Thanks for those.. the Metros usually get left out.. Is anyone going to be at Brands Hatch this weekend?
