World Rallycross R9 - Loheac, France

Yes, I know I'm jumping the gun a bit starting a thread for round 9 when round 6 has only just happened. But I can't wait for Loheac and I saw a bit of driver news on Facebook yesterday...

Andrew Coley mentioned a superstar name for Albatec (that couldn't be revealed) so that ties up with the Muller story nicely. Has the JRM MINI got a driver lined up for this yet? That could be a good option for someone else to hop in if it's available.

Did anyone else see the confirmation of Duval in a Pailler 208?

Shaping up to be a cracking weekend again.

Guerlain Chicherit will be joined at JRM by Guy Wilks...

...I hope Wilks is as flamboyant at Loheac as he was at Lydden!

Yeah. Like last year it seems to have taken them a few months to fine tune the cars, now they are sorted they are the cars to beat: must be why Petter was getting some extra testing in on the Monday after Loheac!

Bit of a ramming fest as usual to be honest. I know rallycross has always had contact, but just seems a lot worse these days, Bakkerud was absolutely awful.

Great to see that French lad doing so well, proof alone that mega budgets, million pound cars and fancy drivers are not always the answer.

Start and first corner was chaos like always but for the rest the racing was great.

Knowing the track has still value, see also Serazin.

Still don't understand why Chicherit got a black flag.

Was really impressed by Serazin, especially as he truly looked like a privateer among the big teams. Very smart drive from Dubourg in the Supercar final, did wonder if he could have got closer to Hansen if Solberg hadn't held him up.

Few shots from Loheac:

Few more shots here if anyone is interested:

I had the impression Dubourg was not really pushing and risking to crash Solberg. He was clearly faster.

Yeah, I thought so as well. I was by the penultimate corner and Dubourg was definitely lifting off to avoid rear-ending Petter.
