Interesting one. I'm not sure he's quite suited to that drive at this stage in his career, but we shall see. He'll certainly be a better option than Fletcher and I like the sounds of the other driver that has been spoken about.
He was born in 1998. Good Lord I feel prehistoric these days. |

I just hope they sign an experienced driver that might be able to contribute a bit more to car development.

"Senna will inject a healthy dose of youth and enthusiasm into the team, and I’m sure both he and our other driver – who will be a more experienced, household name – will keep each other on their toes and continually spur each other on.”
This bit is interesting, sounds like they have a second driver signed or one lined up..... Tarquini |

I agree with others about Proctor - disappointed he hasn't taken a second season in Clios before BTCC. But will have to see how he gets on! For those who don't know, Senna's dad Mark raced in the BTCC in 2005 and 2006 in an Astra Coupe and Civic Type-R respectively, a best result of 6th at Knockhill in the Civic. |

the Astra Coupe was raced in 2004 by Collard Racing
the Civic was ex Tom Chilton if I remember BTW I wonder if this played a part in the BMR engine penalty slap Quote:

Interesting about Proctor signing for PMR is that he raced as a Team BMR Junior driver, racing for 'Team BMR with Pyro' in 2016. Would have thought he would have been straight in with BMR or 888 in 2017 or 2018 rather than elsewhere!

it is a shame the Q50 is potentially going to miss another years racing. Not saying SOPR should have been on the grid, but two reasonable cars someone could have raced. Just mothballed meh

My thoughts exactly but I feel it may be a case of taking the offer that was on the table as opposed to waiting around for BMR to create a vacancy as personally I feel 888 will be sticking with Sutton and Cook (both very talented) and the BMR team will more than likely be the same as last year. Although I think Proctor may not be ready for the BTCC PMR have done a good job at taking drivers in the past (Cook,Fletcher,Abbott) and provide the equipment and backing to encourage their progression as racers to varying degrees so they are probably a good team to sign for in that aspect but I do feel the 2nd driver needs to have some experience if they want to develop a frontrunning car |

I wish him well and if it's Newsham, it's gonna be the perfect blend of youth and experience

Proctor needs at least another season in Clios. He's too inexperienced for BTCC.

What Vauxhall really needs is some consistent driving if they have any chance of the manufacturer's crown. Proctor may surprise, and he's certainly a better choice than Fletcher, or some of the manufacturer drivers of recent years (Neate springs instantly to mind!).
Turkington would be an excellent figurehead, and may be interested in leading the team forward, rather than putting up with JP at Subaru. |
