Depends how far the budget stretches, and if the team can keep a paying customer (driver with budget) on the books.

So one less car than anticipated, as WCR only have 3 Golfs.

Still, the old Civic will be a reasonably quick car.

Remember when they were worried they might have too many entries.

It should only get better though. Hopefully double this entry next year but who knows

What a complete joke Croft was yesterday for this hyped up series. Hours of tracktime devoted to this ill conceived joke - big transporters , hospitality and all the bullshit but at one point we endured the 'spectacle' of 7- count 'em - cars droning round for 30 minutes, in free practice . It felt much longer...And everybody else gets 15m qualifying and seems to struggle by.

And the same day we had an example of how motor sport can work- NSCC - Sevens ,BMWs , Metro Turbo, Evos and even a Suzuki SC 100 in a big grid with great racing.

Conclusion ? Don't bother floating yet another new race series on a sea of hype if you can't field a decent grid. If you can only field a handful then either pack it in or join another race .

If it doesn't get more entries for 2019, then it'll be impossible to take it seriously anymore

why would anyone take it seriously now??
despite all the massive first year hype and publicity the entry numbers started off pathetic and are dropping, not increasing. next year, if it even happens, will be even worse as they won't have all that pre first season hype and build up anymore.

this year the series has been increasingly abandoned, not built. so next year they will only have the evidence of a very poorly supported series to try to promote. so how many more competitors do you think will invest the serious amount of money needed to take part in this? Very very few if any.

Why are the Croft races only 20 mins when it's been 30 mins races so far this year?

My assumption is economics. The last race is due to finish right on the curfew kicking. Therefore, if the races were the normal 30 minutes at least one race would need to be ditched. The reduced entry fees may make the difference between the meeting breaking even or losing money.

Was to do with the tyres.

I thought the shorter race was good.

Just as well given how only about 5 cars make it to the 30 minute point...

Headed for a bumpy end of season crash landing into oblivion... unless they wise up and talk to Mr British GT?

It has worked well for Dan Lloyd - getting picked up by Norlin - and shown Ollie Taylor as a talent to watch, but other than that we've seen some OK to middling to pretty hopeless drivers circulate in some cars entered by OK to middling teams.

West Coast has been the stand out team. Pyro have shown well too, but that doesn't surprise given their professionalism in other series.

The surprise for me this weekend is how well Andreas Backman has gone having had to switch to a Civic; it certainly looks THE motor to have... I would wager the young man won't want to go back to the Golf!

Or, in today's race, we'll be down to 5 cars by 5 minutes.

I want this series to suceed, I really do. But no-one is going to watch numbers like these, and I can't see any other entries being attracted.

Which stream ?
It's streamed on both the TCR UK and the BRSCC youtube channels. I watch it on the BRSCC channel because you also get the support races.

Tcr UK channel, not sure the figures for the other but I doubt more than 1200 people watched it, including trackside which doesn't show a lot for 2019. These must have declined since Silverstone.

Ollie Taylor and the Backman siblings look decent and could do well if they were in BTCC or even GTs, be interested what they are doing next season

judging on what ive seen he would deserve better than that!
i dont know what it is but he reminds me of Mat Jackson for some reason tho.

If those 3 (Taylor and 2x Backmans) did make it up to the big leagues next year where would that leave TCR UK tho?? 18 drivers have taken part this year but i think only 6 have done the season

LOL, he's pretty handy I think. Could yet win the TCR UK title, and is going to run the remainder of TCR Europe - a field of more cars than I have fingers!!! - so should get a better balanced view on his abilities from that.
