Jonny Apex should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hmmm ... interesting addition

Anyone else seen the story on the BTCC site? It's www.tocatour.co.uk for those who haven't ...

It would be fantastic if they race the Nissan this year.

Would indeed be a nice addition to the BTCC, just down to that all important funding isn't it.

from TocaTour.com...
Quote:
Stalwart Nissan team RJN Motorsport is planning an entry into the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship in 2004. If the squad's plans reach fruition, it will race a new shape Nissan Primera (pictured), built to European Touring Car specification by the works Nissan Motorsport Europe organisation in 2002.
WOW! Now that is big news and it sounds really exciting! Its just what the BTCC needs, but if its going to be like Lexus or Alfa Romeo I guess it'll never happen (for the BTCC)

What happened to the Lexus by the way? I think it could have been improved so much it could be where the Hondas are now, it was a great disappointment to see that disappear. But this Nissan news is very good for the championship, I hope this one works out.

There is just the small matter of finding the sponsorship... don't get too excited yet folks. If teams such as Edenbridge and Barwell are pulling out due to lack of funding, then...

I find the Orange liveried IS300 to be an extremely interesting scheme. No doubt, Total Motorsport must have many drawings of the IS300 with various liveries.

At first I was very curious about that Orange livery, but after a while I was convinced it was fake.
Ask and they can draw every livery you want!

I hope they do find the sponsorship. It would kind of make up for the loss of Barwell and Edenbridge dropping out.

Are the Edenbringe cars gonna be sold on to another team like Barwells cars?

Not exactly a 'fake' as such. It's fairly common practice to produce an artist's impression of a possible livery when approaching a big sponsor. It helps them visualise what they'll get for their money.

The orange lexus does look good, just a shame it'll never happen...

True, but they currently don't have any drivers with budget and talent to run the cars, which are for sale unless someone comes along shortly (peter briggs himself has more or less confirmed this in postings elsewhere)

Maybe we could have Colin Mcrae in the Primera, I'm just thinking that since he compteted for Nissan in the Dakar Rally, anyone have the same thoughts?
