Why didn't Fisi qualify today? I must have missed something...

Lets' just wait for a trouble free weekend!
Blimey once he did a superb qual 1, onle Fisi could have to give it up for qual 2. Ok his race was excellent, but had he started from a better position he would probably get in the points. |

Anyone know the nature of Fisi's problem that kept him from qualifying?

gearbox i think .. not engine related
if he would have qualified in the top 10. . he would have got a point today .. .. he was over Massa .. hope for a fight back ...it's the best duel on the grid |

Well well well... What is that? 3 in a row for Fisi? Once again, he proves his critics on this board wrong...

I think what Fisi did today was prove that given a good car he can get a reasonable result. The hard work was done by whoever thought up Rubens' (and Sauber's) pit strategy. |

There was a certain British pretty-boy (by the way, I am a fan of his too) who was given a much better car, and managed to cock it up in qual's...

Um, yes he thought so too, until it was pointed out that a rear tyre had turned on the rim as he went into that corner.

To be fair though, he has done brilliantly the rest of the time. Whereas Fisi looked mediocre to begin with this season.

Of course he has. He's a great driver, just like my boy Giancarlo! And lets be fair - Giancarlo was in a new team to start 2004.

Gee, I wonder who resurrected this thread?
Fisi is getting better, I'll give you that, but there were so many bad performances today, that he was bound to finish in the points. |

both sauber drivers had good races . but Massa;s problem in the last few races was qualifying . yesterday he was faster the Fisico in two intermediars and still he finished in 17th place ... he'll need to get the qualifying sorted again and we'll see a closer battle between those tw ..
close are the fastest laps.. 1m18,8 vs 1m19.0 (Massa vs Fisichella) |

They both drove well in the race.
Fisi has 2 points now to Massa's 1. How do you call this one? I don't know. Fisi is a very experienced and IMO, talented. Felipe is perhaps less talented, but has age to his credit. The "battle" will not be decided in all likelihood until late in the season by points in the championship. |

Dont worry though, he will only drag it up when Fisi comes out on top, so 2 more times this season. Seriously though, yesterday Fisi's experience shined through. Vredit where it is due, it was an excellent drive. 5 a season is'nt enough though Inigo. |

Giancarlo was one of the stars of the race - his race pace was comparable to Button's, well ahead of the 2 McLarens, and slightly ahead of Massa. Extrememly impressive stuff; maybe this race will stick in the minds of team-owners looking for a 2005 driver.

One thing in Fisi's favour is that he's put in a good performance at just the right time - just when team owners are beginning to do some serious work on their 2005 line-ups. Of course they're not stupid, so their first question is bound to be why now - where's the consistency?.

i have to say i was pleased with fisi here, he has been very dissapointing recently and hopefully will be back on his top form soon so everyone can see how great he is.
i do also believe we need threads like this about fisi brought up every now and then, after all he now drives for sauber and could very easily just dissapear from everyones minds ala heidfeld/frentzen last year |
