Mopar should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Damper fixing point

I have not seen a damper attached to a chassis like this before, is it common practice with tube frame chassis? I understand the ride height adjustability but is it stiff enough for racing applications?

NOne of the gurus have replied since yesterday, so I'll have a go.

But that's not a space frame chassis - it's a massive ladder-rail job!
Looks more like an ancient lorry chassis, with all sorts of fancy alloy castings bolted on. What's it off?

The shocker upper support looks very like a standard method for mounting a spherical joint/rod end; threaded insert and locking nut. But rather more extended than I would expect a rod end to be.

I would say the upper mount looks pretty 'substantial' with a large amount of triangulation spreading the load into the chassis, so I would guess it is pretty stiff.

Consider also that the loads at the top mount of the coilover are going to be exactly the same as at the bottom mount, and then look at the size of the lower mount in comparison with the top one.

It looks like a "truck race" job to me. Possibly serious rally buggy stuff.?

Looks a bit similar to the Banjo Matthews chassis on my Penke IROC which has a frame like that at the front but I would say its a tubeframe chassis.

I've never seen that before. Does the P&M GT2 car have the same damper upper fixing?
