RaceTime should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Are competitor numbers increasing or decreasing?

I had a need to recalculate all the results from Round 1 of the 1997 SATCC held at Calder Park - the interesting bit from this was the numbers of competitors entered at that meeting:

Summary of entries for this meeting
FFORD - 60
FHOLDEN - 26
GROUPA - 28
HQ - 41
SUPERBIK - 18
Total Entries This Meeting: 173

Apart from Group A/V8's increasing to 32, the Formula Ford, Holden and HQ Holdens were interesting numbers. Event the Superbikes have decreased over the past 4 years...

Ahhh good boy RT for doing some home work

But of course the V8 grid would be much bigger than 32 if they were given the chance...

Also, I'd say you might be able to get more than 41 HQs, but sometimes those sorts of classes suffer from people not entering due to high entry fees.

Hmm...where did 19 FHoldens disappear to??

Where have the F/Holdens's gone? Not sure - if you want to take a look at the entry list for that meeting though - http://www.racetime.com.au/racedata/c9705/ - my worry is where have the 60 national Formula Ford's gone to!

60 Formula Fords! Bloody Hell! That's alot.

Regarding the 32 car grid limit imposed on V8 Supercar race these days - why is there?

Most track densities are calculated using a variety of formula, however the number of available pit bays/garages is also taken into account.

Also 32 is the magic number, because they want to have 16 two car teams competing at each round- ditch this pre-qualifying ****, and send those who aren't in the 32 back to the Konica series...
