Pro Racer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Your favourite ATCC/V8 Supercar's car?

mine would have to be (in this order):

1 - 'Day Glo/Last of the Big Bangers' 1984 VK Commodore
(can't beat the colour and it was the best/meanest looking car Holden built)

2 - 'Win by six laps and lap record on the last lap' 1979 A9X Torana
(well it looked great won by six laps and was good enough to set the lap record on the last lap)

3 - 'Brocks first Bathurst win' 1972 XU1 Torana
(it was the best looking non-Malboro sponsered HDT car and it gave Brocky his first Bathurst win)

4 - 'The Rock Incident/Tru-Blu' 1980 XD Falcon
(well the Rock incident sticks in you mind Holden or Ford fan the great debate goes on was it thrown or did it just fall, and it was a nice simple livery)

5 - 'Brocks Last-Last Bathurst' 2004 VY Commodore
(was a livery one of HRT's best and seeing 05 and Brock on a race car at Bathurst one last time was great even though it crashed out don't mention the name Plato although they were never going to win i would of liked to see Brock come accross the finish line 1 more time)

what are your favourite cars?

Moffat Mustang is probably my favourite. Loved the A9X H'backs though and Brocks 72 XU.1

Tv didn't do that Price Attack commodore justice, it was just beautiful and all sparkly in the flesh!

Myself, I've always had a soft spot for Andrew Medieke's OXO Sierra's

That car never competed in the ATCC. It was a production car. I actually think that Brock didn't even compete in the touring car champinoship that year at all (from the stats that I have read)

Anyhow, favs for me anyway

1)Marcos Ambrose BA falcon.....not much else really needs to be said
2)Dick Johnson Shell Sierra - What a car. Could only think what could have happened if Group A continued & Johnson got hold of the 4wd Escort!!
3)Moffatt Coke Mustang. OK, so it was before my time, but it surely was an awsome car from an awsome era

Bar one decal, the Torana's from 72/73 are the same, mate. Ease up!

1) 84 Sandown/Bathurst VK. Just AWESOME. Even the McLaren's didn't take up that colour until 1989! The bodykit, flares, colour...WOW!!!!

2) 2001/2 HRT Commodore - They may have "borrowed" the scheme from Vauxhaul, but it looked awesome on the VX.

3) 78/79 HDT Torana - Wow... Just looked great - even a ford fan can't disagree!

4) the Moffat 77 Dealer Team Falcons - I hate to say this, but they looked good.

5) For the day, the 85/86 HDT VK's. The white scheme with highlighs lookd modern beyond it's yeears. Round the highlights and it'd still look great!

The 'Day-Glow' Group C HDT VK Commodore's never competed in an ATCC event either.

And McLaren had been running bright orange and white since 1974.

My favourites;

- Murray Carters "Brian Wood Ford" Falcon's
- late-78 & 79 Ron Hodgson/Channel 7 Racing Torana of Bob Morris
- STP Roadways Racing Commodore's of 1983
- 2001 FTR Falcon's
- 2004 Ingall livery was alright as well.

In no particular order the ones that spring to mind:

The VK/VL/VN Brock 05 Commodores - what racecars should look like
The JPS BMW's - always immaculate
The Green Eyed Monster - just cool
DJR Shell #17 Ford Sierra - red is always faster
Perkins Castrol VY Commodores - clean lines
Andrew Miedecke's plain white Sierra (still looking for a sponsor) - for no good reason apart from it stuck out in the crowd

Amaroo 1988

Peter McLeod's Group C Mazda RX-7
Dick Johnson's Group C Greens Tuff XE Falcon
Peter Brocks' Group C Dayglo VK Commodore

Without doubt, the 70's Falcon coupes were what a real muscle tin top race car should look like -

77 XC MFDT's
78 MFDT Cobras
Johnsons XC Bryan Bryt Falcon
Moffs Federation Falcon
Carters Brian Wood XC
Dicksons? Pioneer Falcon - big ears on the big coupes flanks

It goes without saying that Moffs Coke Boss Mustang was the most succesful, best looking race car ever to hit Aussie race tracks. Tt always looked menacing and the opposition needed more cubes in order to catch it.

79 MHDT A9X
Big Rev Kevs Camaro + quite liked the Pepsi Camaros too
Greens Tuf Mustang

IF a race car has to be a 4 door -

Greens Tuf Falcon - the very definition of Aussie big bangers. The last ATCC car we heard the magic sound of the legendry '51 hammer around the Mount.

True Blue XD's, the 'rock car' was a turning point in the ATCC, wonder what would have happend to the ATCC if DJ didn't 2nd mortgage his house for that car?
Of course, the 2nd True Blue repayed Australians with an ATCC/Bathurst win.

DayGlo MHDT Commodores
Army Reserve Falcon
The Captains Commodores, might have been more to do with the man himself though
Brabhams? Denim SLR5000

Granpa's axe - what more can be said?
Most of DJR's V8sc's, stand out being the Shell BA
Gatorade Commodore
Green eyed monster
Cat BA Falcon
HRT's Commodore with chequers on the rear.

Depends on how you want to define ATCC. Its hard to say that the 72 Brocks car was the best that he raced in the ATCC, when he never raced it in the 1972 ATCC (or let alone, did Brock ever race in the 72 touring car championship)? & are we comparing the paint of a car, the mechanics of the car, the team or all three?

JPS BMW M3 from an asthetics point of view. Looked a whole lot better than the 635.

From a performance point of view the 1991 Nissan Skyline GTR.
Still have the matchbox sized replica of that car. Beautiful car.
