After Le Mans and Imola this seems very ho-hum. Hopefully Flying Lizard can get near the top and make it more than a BMW/Corvette battle. Risi seems to still be ironing out the kinks in the 458. 1st Practice in 15 mins...

Is the ALMS T&S working? I think the practice session should have started by now, but the T&S isn't showing anything.

Still very early, but Steven Kane seems to be on it. P1 so far.

Why is it showing Lucas Luhr on Timing when it was supposed to be Pickett sharing with Graf on the entry list? Also, it appears Steven Kane is no slouch! Appears to be fitting into LMP racing quite nicely already.

Interesting to see such a small gap between the LMPC and LMP1. Also the LMPC field is tight as ever, and it looks like Intersport's new driver Kovacic has found the pace straight away.

Humaid Al Masaood is in the #20. Lets see what kind of lap times he can pull off.

A red flag followed by an early checkered? I do see that the 62 and 32 did not make it back to the pits according to T&S. I wonder what happened.

ALMS twitter: Red flag. Contact between @RisiComp #Ferrari and 55 #BMW. Vilander stopped against the guardrail at T4.

So far I think it is fair to say that Humaid isn't fast in the wet, but we'll see what happens when things dry out later on in this session. Qualifying is coming up in about 40 minutes I believe on ESPN3 and on the ALMS website.

Was it another of the 458's famed Suspension failures that made Risi crash out? ive noticed none of the 458's have come out for Practice 2.

Wow, Long is P2 overall in this session with a 57.824. If we had GT cars on the front row this would be just like old times of the IMSA GT series of the early 80s.

I don't know, it the notes I saw just said that the Risi car hit the BMW in turn 4 and couldn't continue the session, while the bmw drove back to pits.

If this session was anything to go by, we could see a GT on the top step of the overall podium tomorrow.
