HSCC - Mondello - What classes are traveling?

I would be very interested to know what classes from the HSCC are travelling to Ireland for the HSCC/British GT meeting on 7th -9th May.

The HSCC website calendar states that all but three classes will be in attendance (Derek Bell Trophy, XK's and Formula Junior sadly not travelling). I also see from the FIA website that the Historic Grand Touring Cars and the European Challenge for Grand Touring Cars (not sure what, if any, the difference is!) are due to race.

I heard yesterday that there is a draft timetable somewhere and its states that there are only three classes from the HSCC (HSCC A, HSCC B and HSCC C)

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Don't ask me what the British GT's have to do with all of this!!

Thanks

The single seater race will be a "mixedgrid" of CLASSIC RACING CARS & F.FORD.

It seems as though the grid will be a very small one, with probably a sparse 12 runners.

Ted, this is not the news which I wanted to hear, but I must admit that I am not surprised. It is such a shame that the orginisers could not have left it as a full HSCC event and ran the rest of the classes at another time.

Regardless of that I will still be there.

I thought we were looking at 12 historic ff's with a matching number of classic racing cars?

Paul, I was going to ask the same question. I do hope a reasonable number of classes and car make the trip, it would be so nice to see good grids of "proper race cars"!

I am sure your shutter will be kept sufficently busy with the GT's. Please excuse me if this is stupid question, but have you been to Mondello before?

The Irish Historics are mainly made up of Mini's, MG's, Porsches, Sunbeam Tigers, the odd Lotui etc. The website is www.hrca.ie. Normally produce very good and close racing.
