The 1955 healey 100

Did anyone else see the article in yesterdays metro (free paper in london)
The healey involved in the 1955 crash is up for auction at bonhoms totally rebuilt and ready for clasic racing/display asking large sums of money for a healey but the history makes it special.

I am a Healey fan and have owned one for over 20 years - but I dont think I would want that one at any price.

Apparently it was impounded by the French authorities after the accident, then returned to Healey about 18 months later. It was then repaired and sold off, and continued to be raced into the 60's. It's been stored by the present owner since the late 60's

Considering the history,it will be interesting to see if it realise's the estimate.
Having been responsible for the restoration of the Moss car many years ago,I wouldn't mind betting that will be the next to be offered,as the owner turned down the same figure a few years ago,I wonder if a 100S could reach that high? Time will tell.
I still rate the 100S as the best ever Healey, far superior than the 106/3000.
