BMW in Gibson Garage Mystery

On the RPM website i was looking through some of their old videp stories from the show, and found one of Neil Cromptons pit pass, where he takes you through the Gibson premises. At the start they have a high shop from inside the complex and you see a number of cars sitting there, including one that looks amazingly like Geoff Brabhams 1997 Diet Coke BMW 320i, the one he and David won Bathurst in.

Anyone know what is going on.

Somebody asked this very same question on these boards at least 6 months ago and the answer never surfaced then...

But did Coke Cola ever sponsor a GT prod car though? I know they sponsor V8 Supercar and ST car.

OTOH, how much do you think a '97 spec ST BMW is worth these days? I doubt anything more than 50K US? And even THAT PRICE is very unlikely considering the present motorsport demand. So if you can't get anything reasonable for it, there's no hurry to sell the car.

Heck, it may prove more useful to keep the car around and write off the paper (financial) loss when it comes to taxation season???

It's sad to see so many ST cars lying around rusting and wasting away in people's garages!! Sighh...
