youngoldy has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Quite a fitting honour to Ray.

Does anybody have a timetable for the weekend yet?

I hear from an unreliable source - my lad - that the quickest he has seen on a board is a 1m03.0s, but I've forgotten who he said that was. Very useful heh!
I think it might have been a Gough.

Out of interest, aren't we going to struggle if the final is at 16:20? It's gonna be pretty dim by then...

When I left Silverstone, it was Pete Dempsey on a 1.03.0, me on a 1.03.1, Gavin Wills on a 1.03.1 and a host of drivers on a 1.03.3 including Wayne Boyd.

The timetable looks extremely pessimistic in terms of the amount of clearup time allowed - all being well it should be finished earlier than that!

Hopefully it will not be as dark as last years final, nearly gave up shooting before the end. Still will be there Saturday & Sunday with at least one assistant so we should get lots of pics before the sun goes down.

Website promotion in WHT thread

Hi folks,

Although we're based in Canada, we'll be covering this year's Walter Hayes Trophy like we did in 2007, using info from the organizers and those who attended the event. Here's a look at our coverage from last year, which was provided by the awesome UKFF1600 site (RIP). We'll do what we can this year.

http://www.eformulacarnews.com/news_info.php?n=1697
http://www.eformulacarnews.com/news_info.php?n=1703
http://www.eformulacarnews.com/news_info.php?n=1709
http://www.eformulacarnews.com/news_info.php?n=1711

We're major Formula Ford enthusiasts and started a WHT of our own here at Mosport - the CanAm Cup - and we're hoping to build it into something pretty big. Here's a look at our event:

http://www.eformulacarnews.com/news_info.php?n=1537

We'll take any info we can get from those who are attending the event. Please send any trackside info to news@eformulacarnews.com so that either myself or my Sr. Writer Allan Craighead will receive it.

Enjoy the weekend...it's FF racing at its very best.

Thanks for allowing us to post on this awesome site.

Respectfully,

Yes it does Ian, 35 mins for the 12 lap races in the afternoon!

They do need to bring the final forward though it will be pitch black at Becketts by 16:30!!

It helps if the weather is as good as it is today. Just got back from a couple of hours of testing - quite a lot of incident there it would seem. There was contact between one of Wayne Poole's Van Diemens and Benn Simms' Dulon in front of me at Copse, while Felix Fisher's Swift had some kind of failure I think and he went off on the National Straight. Nick Jones destroyed three corners of his car yesterday but it is back together today.

Yesterday was a pretty quiet testday, the circuit merged haets 1 and 2 togther for sessions at 35mins each, the same for heats 3 and 4, 5 and 6. I wouldn't say there have been alot of shunts, but alot of damage on each of the crash's that occured.

Dempsey (Peter of course) quickest today on a 1.02.5, with the Barrable in the blue and white Swift 92 also on a 1.02.5. Gavin on a 1.02.8. 'Goughy' HAD to go to a wedding today, so no times from him. Boyd seemed a little further back than perhaps a few might have expected, I didn't get a time from him in the 2's, but all the bull and rumours about laptimes ends tomorrow in qualifying ...

Hi all,

Going to be writing up a report covering the day's activities at Silverstone, but could use your help, as I'm over here in North America. Fire me an email or private message with any inside notes (who is quick and why?/anyone struggling with their car/what the conditions are like/incidents/etc.) from the track. Thanks in advance and hope all of your are enjoying some great racing over that side of the pond.

Cheers,

Allan Craighead
