Depends how much One want him back and whether they can come to an agreement. I can see the third seat going to another paying driver

From Dan Lloyd’s latest vlog…

He’ll have a brand new Cupra chassis.

Excerl8 wanted £100,000+ more compared to last year!

Since he came back to the series in 2004, every single drive has been a result of the finances he brings to that team.

I mean… he was comfortably beaten in the standings by a Hard driver last year, so I’m not sure his more recent form is too much of an enticement!

Lol. La-la land.

Please list the drivers in BTCC who don’t bring funding, outside of Sutton and Cammish.

Brilliant so we agree ..

I would be tempted to add Josh Cook to that list.

Off back to La La Land ..

Apart from plucking names out of a hat, or just guessing, does anyone actually know details of what funding each driver brings in?

Yep we won’t be seeing anyone in Honda’s run by Dynamic’s or any other car in BTCC run by them. The only question around their cars are whether Steve Dudman gets his hands on them as he wants and that could tie up with Plato doing another season.

I’m aware of a few deals and the ‘required’ funding from drivers/sponsors. They have all gone up this last year due to hybrid costs etc. but the ones I know of range from £125k-£400k, have previously seen deals nearer £600k for a season when new cars have had to be built.

Confirmed? Seems odd for Neal to 'go it alone' when he already has a team.

So - if I'm understanding this correctly:
  • Team Dynamics Motorsport Limited have two TBLs registered for the 2023 season.
  • Matt Neal is an Active Director at Team Dynamics Motorsport Limited (the other directors are Stephen Neal and Barry Plowman).
  • Matt Neal has 80% ownership of Team Dynamics Motorsport Limited.

But - Matt Neal is starting a new team? Or is it just that the TD entry for 2023 will be under a different name?

Great, so one team has two drivers that don't bring finance at this stage of their career. Not sure why you were so arsey.

I'm sure there are plenty of other teams that have enough of a budget that they can pick drivers for their talents or whatever and don't need to ask them to bring money or not much of it anyway

In terms of guest series, the Mini Miglias had a very big field at Silverstone last weekend, and I think the Legends series has had lots of interest.
Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Sprint Challenge Media Day today at Silverstone.

Looking at TSL results from their first sessions - 18 Carrera Cup (7 Pros, 9 Pro-Ams, 2 Ams) and 15 Sprint Challenge (7 Pros, 8 Ams).

Would expect more cars to venture out on track as the day goes on. Hopefully full entry lists will be shared by Porsche later today.
