Parity....

Heading into the enduros I feel its timely to revisit this idea of parity. As I and many others have always said their is nothing wrong with the falcons. Yet again Ford have proved that their is nothing wrong with the BA Falcon so their is no reason why Ford can't win bathurst and any other race for that matter.

Also quite interesting to note that Will Davison demonstrated nothing wrong with the AU Falcon this weekend...

Therefore their is no reason to whinge about parity and no reason to push for a parity adjustment for the Holdens...

Oh boy... here we go

The Holden teams didnt help themselves this weekend... the lone contender in Mr Tander is not the natural Holden team leader, not because of ability, more that this squad seems still to be having trouble fielding 2 competitive contenders on a race weekend.

Had Mr Skaife not gone off, had Mr Kelly not suffered from stuffed power steering, had Mr Murphy not suffered a fundamentally unbalanced and unfamiliar car.... the results could well have been different....

Richo is still 2nd in the championship..

Parity in general isn't the issue. The question is: Is there a parity issue that relates to the continual Holden domination at Bathurst?......and don't blame me as I am not the one that raised the subject.

Wasn't parity meant to be a word of the past when 'Project Blueprint' was introduced??? Hang on, Blueprint was only implemented properly as of what, Darwin this year?

I know what you are getting at, but this is a poor way in which to judge parity.

People say parity is one make winning 51% of the races, the other 49%. Of course it isn't.

If a Holden and a Ford had gone into the last lap of every race this year nose to tail, and the Holden which was leading had spun off the road on the last lap through driver error/mechanical failure/whatever...... and the close following Ford had won each round because of it, does this mean parity is bad, because Ford had won every race.....of course not!

Parity is done by lap times. Averages and stuff.

tico you must have the memory of a gold fish (yes, I know, I saw Mythbusters too... ). Not that I am calling for any adjustment but you did see the Holdens down the straight at Hidden Valley didn't you? It's horses for courses and the remaining courses favor the Holdens. The Ford boys won't see which way the HMS cars went up Mountain straight....

Funny thing is a few years back when it was the Ford boys/teams throwing it off the road, making driving errors - basically finding anuway to loose a race everyone was telling them to stop whinging and get their own house in order. If the Holden boys did the same this season it would be no contest. Nothing as sweet as revenge!
