Do I understand correct: - Use a engine block from a different manufacturer? E.g. a Ford block in a Citroen car. - Use a specially made engine block. |

Yes.
And like it says in the article, a Chinese car manufacturer can buy an off the shelf custom engine and put it in their car. So there could be Godfrey engined LandWind, Ford or PSA or Toyota based custom build engines, or even an own cast and machined block asaik. Reads like anything goes (with in limit). Good news for new brands to step in. 5.4 In Appendix J. art 279 You might wonder what they're going to do to the homologation rulings to get the Chinese market on board. Or india. Tanner Foust's Volkswagen Passat drift car has a CHevrolet LS V8 engine.
It's called Supercars, not Production Cars. It's not unexpected, I think. |
