In some ways its a good idea, in others its not. Its a good idea because we'll see 13 drivers going balls-out in their cars as fast as possible not really worrying about tyres etc. Also, drivers coming from the back will bne even more spectacular. Finally, it will make excellent TV coverage and viewing. However, cars could get wrecked the feature race, and when more cars enter (e.g. MGs, the grids will be very full and chock-a-block. Also, the spectators (in terms of cars on tack time) will get less. However, the pit lane walkabout will be longer, so more Autographs! I'm undecided, ill have to wait and see.

I'm all for it. More autographs. And Richard West says he's in talks with a fourth manufacturer!

TOCA haven't specifically said but I assume the super sprint will count for full points. Could make qualifying even more interesting.
Let's see... big accident at the first corner brings out the safety car, which pulls in just in time for a one lap dash to the flag.

See your point, Redshoes but I am all for more autograph/pit walkabout time
Advantage of safety car being out for most of the race - great photo opportunities for someone like me that is rubbish at taking pictures of moving objects over 40mph!

Immediate Release
SUPER SPRINT FOR BTC TOURERS
TOCA has introduced a super sprint race for its BTC Touring category.
The race will be run over just 10 minutes’ duration, and will replace the original 20-25-lap sprint distance.
Series director Richard West believes that the super sprint format will create a great spectacle for fans.
“It’s going to be fast and furious,” he says. “At the first round, on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, drivers will have just 12 laps to do what they are going to do. There will be no punches pulled.”
The super sprint will be retained for the whole season, even when the BTC Touring grid is boosted by the arrival of MG and a celebrity wildcard entry. A further manufacturer is also currently in discussion with West.
The time freed up in the BTC Touring schedule will be used for an extended pit walkabout and autograph session.
The BTC Production class sprint and the main feature race are unaffected by this change.

no
Nah this stinks, 10 minutes isn't enough, at tracks like Silverstone you'll only see them about 7 times!
