Carlisle Stages

My first visit to 'Killer' Kielder,

Wow that's what a call a Rally Venue, we were on Stage 1 and had a fantastic view of my beloved Escorts + some girly 4 wheel drive boxes.

How do the locals live with those midges though?
Still itching 3 days later after getting bitten to bits, you can do dot to dot on my arms.

Definitely go back again.

I went on a holiday to N Scotland last year, and was warned about the voracity of the midges there. I was advised by locals to cover up, and to use a skin cream from Avon (apologies for the advert) on all exposed skin areas. As a precaution I also got a tube of shower gel in the same stuff, and used it to wash my hair so I got some protection on my scalp. Well it worked for me, not a single bite except on one wrist which I did not coat sufficiently well, and I'm usually a good insect magnet.

Apologies if this is a bit too girly for you!

Marion if it stops me itching I don't care how girly it is

On the way home last night I called into a Chemist and am now covered in cream and the itching is definately not so bad.

Hopefully I'll remember next time.
