Marcos 3 Litre Volvo - Appendix K

Can anyone point me in the right direction for setting up a 1970 Marcos Volvo 3 litre, for FIA Appendix K? This is a new area for me, and much depends on being able to track down relevant period info, but most seem to have run either the 1800cc, or the Ford 3 litres in period.

Any help gratefully accepted!

It means going back to standard Vitesse discs and dumping the vented ones I suppose, but apart from that, and the 14" wheels, the car is currently standard, and has already been raced for many years.

the 1800gt was homologated in 1996 or thereabouts so the 3L V6 was probably homologated August 2009

Re #2. Just googled it and that is a 1965 1800cc Volvo of Laurie Sellers, so will be a wooden chassis . Unfortunately, not a 3 litre, so not too much help I'm afraid. Thanks anyway.

You may well struggle with this .It was never homologated and I don't think ever did an International event. Though Jem may have tried to get a Le Mans entry.

The 1800 Volvo was retrospectively homologtaed on the basis that two, possibly three, cars did take part in International competition in period as GTS cars and the requisite number to homologate were made in period.

Does that effectively mean that I could not get FIA papers for a virtually standard car that COULD have raced in period?

Its all a bit confusing at the moment and an area I have not been involved with, as I can race it locally to local rules that do allow a limited amount of modification, and certain areas are 'free' on the grounds of safety, reliability and availability of parts.

How could it have raced "in period",if it was not built "in period".?

Don't know about 3litre, most certainly a 1800 was entered for Jem & John Quick. Failed to qualify, needed a lap at 119mph if memory correct and Quicky did 115mph maximum of around 120 on the Mulsanne. Have a picy of car and both outside of works. Car later sold to a Mr. David James and run by Quick Developments along side John's WOO 11, 1968? will check.
