Don't DKR also have a C5-R in use in FFSA too? That could be an entry.

Hmm, there's this pesky thing called homologation.

Does anyone know when the entry list is meant to be released?

Last year the provisional entry list came out the day after the Oschersleben race which was in July, on the 8th, the test day at Spa.
So maybe next week |

Stéphane Ortelli will join Tim Sugden, David Ashburn and maybe a Porsche works driver in the Trackspeed Porsche for Spa 24.

Are any of these 1 off teams for Spa planning a full season next year?

IMSA seem perfectly happy in the LMS and GT Open, but things can change. JWA is for gentlemen and runs enduros as a result. Chad will go with whoever has a budget, so probably see JWA. I think that's the one-off teams? Save maybe Jet Alliance, who could be at Spa and back next year too.

First GT3s appearing on the ballot: EI reporting that Matech will not enter their GT1 car but, instead, they will have 2 GT3 Ford GTs competing.
Marc VDS will have the lone GT1 Ford GT at Spa. At the end of the article, they mentioned Nissan taking 2 GT-Rs to Spa. That would be the #35 Gigawave run car plus another? Ford GT part confirmed on the FIA GT site. Last edited by AndrewF31; 1 Jul 2009 at 14:55. Reason: added FIA GT link |

Planet Le Mans has posted a provisional entry list.
Some interesting additions in there. Wonder how much speculation is involved: 1 - Maserati adds Sarrazin and Negrão to Bartels-Bertolini 2 - Maserati adds Lamy and van de Poele to Müller-Ramos A third Vitaphone Maserati is entered with Margaritis, Rosenblad and Pier Guidi Luc Alphand adds Olivier Beretta and Jousse to their Corvette Their Prospeed lineup has Collard, Westbrook and Edwards in #60 and O'Young and Holzer still in the #61. They speculate GT3 will have a Muhlner Porsche, a Phoenix Audi with at least Fassler and Moser. |

Karl Wendlinger wrote in a recent column on motorsport-total, that they'd have all four drivers in one Saleen for Spa. So there's probably one K+K-car too much on the PLM-entry list.

Seems PLM's entry list has the news we've seen posted around the web and based the rest on FIA-GT's season entry list and some speculation (mainly the GT3 entries like Muhlner and Phoenix, although it's odd they already have drivers for the Audi).
Just noticed Jetalliance isn't on the list. |

DSC reports about the IMSA entry. They'll have Narac, Pilet and Long on their team. Immediate favourite in GT2.

Hopefully JetAlliance appear out of the blue, although we would've heard something already if they were going to Spa. But without Karl and Ryan it wouldnt be the same.
If Vitaphone enter three cars surely one of them has to be called Vitasystems like last year? Great name. If LAA do indeed have Beretta that will be a good lineup with Biagi and Massen. It would be superb with both Ollies in the car. Is Julien Jousse good? I dont know much about him. |

Absolutely amazing lineups in the #1 and #2 Vitaphone cars. Seems like they put all the pay-drivers in the #17 car? I really wish they'd run in an ACO series; perhaps next year with whatever new (and hopefully legal this time) car Fiat builds for them.
I'm interested in seeing how the Matech GT3s times compare to the GT2 times. Weren't the GT3s actually faster than most of the GT2s at an earlier round? |

They're really close to each other, ya.
Pole times from the first 3 rounds: Silverstone: GT2 1:50.2 / GT3 1:51.0 and 1:49.4 Adria: GT2 1:15.1 / GT3 1:15.4 and 1:15.1 Oschersleben: GT2 pole 1:28.8 / GT3 1:29.7 and 1:28.9 Can't remember if there was rain at Silverstone for qualifying but the times there and at the other 2 are close enough. Average race speeds between the 2 are also close (winners, in km/h): Silverstone: GT2 158 / GT3 157 and 158 Adria: GT2 123 / GT3 119 and 119 Oschersleben: rain in GT2 so not easy to compare Should be close between them. However, if you look at the results from Spa last year they weren't that close. At Monza last year, there was a 30 km/h gap between GT2 and GT3 but I'm not sure if there's any regulation differences between last year and this year. |

I think Spa is one of the courses where the GT2 cars should clearly have the legs on the GT3s. All the same though, it does make you wonder why we bear the extra cost of GT2s that basically run the same pace as the GT3s over a single lap. Imagine GT3s with equivalent rubber...
