Jack Daniels Racing's musical note

What's the go with the Perkins' rockets new throatier note? I heard some chat a while back that the JDR lads made a new exhaust system on it and at Tassie the cars made a really nice note. Sounded they placed a set of big block extractors on it. Does anyone know the changes to the exhaust system?

I think it's a new muffler.

been on since Bathurst, in person when it has gone past you from the back it sounds like a 250cc bike. who cares if it sounds like a fart in a tunnel if it helps it go better.

It sounds fantastic, like a Cosworth V8.

It has a cross-over exhaust system from each bank's primary pipes with a different 4-1 collector system...

It sounds more like an F3 car or a F430....quite nice!

HRT have a similarly different exhaust on GTs ....

Looks like Todd's bought over some of the secrets from the Lion's Den!!

Todd has been the shot in the a@$e that Perkins has needed for some time. Like he said on the radio on Saturday afternoon, it been 11 months but finally they have got there and hopefully they can keep that going into next year.

So is this the engine development Mr Kelly Sr has been paying for on the quiet?

The JD cars had a sweet note at Indy in the Concrete jungle. For a holden anyway it would have to sound the nicest.
