It was Mid-Ohio and probably 1976, as it was his way interpreting the new rules that allowed Monzas in.
He had to put an aluminum dam across the top of the car.
Carl Shafer is dead, cancer if I remember correctly, and the car was sold way back in the late seventies to Ted Mathey I believe. Where it is now, I have no idea.
I unfortunately long ago (I am an idiot) threw away the On Tracks with the info, but I think Hershel McGriff drove it for the new owner, or one of them if the car was resold again, at least once.
Info on this era is scarse as hens teeth, which is both odd and sad, as these were the cars that kept peoples minds of off the crap coming out of Detroit, and kept them aware of what Detroit iron was capable of.
