porsche45 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sort of off topic...Any one have suggestions for a decent hotel near the track? My wife and I are going to Le Mans, then taking a holiday through N. Italy, and just so happens, we'll be in the Milano area the weekend of the FIA GT race, the week after Le Mans. We're currently looking at the Novotel off the A51. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Ten Tenths!

I can't help you, but I'm sure some of the "locals" will chime in to help you. If you have not, check out the LeMans 2007 thread, which usually has some discussion on this topic. Good luck.

Edit: Please keep this thread for Monza discussion please. Thanks!

Edit 2: Porsche45, I have moved your post here:

Moved this over from the Monza race thread. If some of you in the know can help out it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Ok, so the light just went on! Went ahead and started you a thread. Hopefully you'll get some answers without further mess ups from me.

Hello!

I live in Vedano Al Lambro, even closer to the Autodromo than Monza itself. I'm really pleased to help...there are various hotels around Monza, some are very close to the Autodromo, can "produce" a list...the Novotel is near Linate airport, on the outskirts of Milano, about 45 mins away from the track (saturday/sunday only, monday to friday is usually worse)...please let me know what are you looking for/do you prefer/(eventually) can afford...

Really anything like a Novotel, Ibis, Mercure, to Hilton. If one is close to a rail line or metro into Central Milano, so much the better. Thanks for your help.

When I went to the FIA GT test days in Monza, we rented a car at the Bergamo Airport. That was the easiest solution to travel freely. If you are looking for a nice bed & breakfast I can give you the address of the people where I stayed... I believe it was 40 euro / person, not very cheap, but service was better than at a hotel! It was a 5 minutes drive from the B&B to the track.

Cheers
M
