mtpanorama should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It seems as though our old mate Rodney has been up to his usual tricks again. I was reading the list of fines from Adelaide and found this

Two inquiries were held concerning Rodney Forbes (Car 7) after he made contact with Cameron McConville (Car 3). The first resulted in a fine of $500 after he had made contact and left the confines of the circuit without permission. The second fine issued was due to his breach of the Careless Driving Rule for which he was fined $5,000.

Looks like dad has to shell(ha) out some more money for his son to drive around at the back of the field.

good one, mtpanorama!

honestly, how pointless is it all, dear old Rodney being in the field? WHAT'S THE POINT?? ahhhhh, I wish he'd go back to Holden ... he's a bit of an embarrassment to Ford, IMHO ...

Poor old Rodders he cops it from everywhere doesnt he ?

I was just wondering what car he was driving ?

we all know Craig is in the ex Pietek car but where did Rodney get his Falcon from ?

the fine about leaving the circuit is a strange one..i dont know the finer details of course but did he just pack up and go back to his hotel/caravan before the stewards were finished with him ???

Rodney's car is the ex-Colourscan car, which I believe is fundamentally the same as the SBR car, because of the same cage etc. Ok there would be a bit of a difference between the cars, but that shouldn't mean that you start driving like a goose (or continue to drive like a goose as it may be....)

Thanks Crash test..I was wondering what happened to Danny Osborne and his crew...

ok so what is it with Rodney ..is he just no good or is he trying to hard or is the car just junk ???

he has shown in the past he can be rather quick ..remember him in GTP he was pretty quick in his Porsche but since entering V8's he has only shown the occasional turn of speed but has been falling off the track more often than staying on it.
would he be better off going back to GTP or even changing to Commodore cup or something with a bit less horsepower ???

The guy was really quite good when he was in FFord in an old car, won NSW Championship or ARDC Championship. He had two races with Glenn Seton Racing in V8s in 1998, didn't go too well at the AGP, and crashed before qualifying at Lakeside. He then got into the Porsche, was pretty quick in that, especially in the Porsche Cup race at Bathurst in 1998 which he won coming off the third row (also came top 10 in the Playboy Super Tourer on the same day). In 1999 he was really good in the VS commodore, winning privateer at Bathurst....and then it went downhill.

Everyone has their theories about him, but he has been off the planet in recent years, look at Bathurst last year (and just about every other race meeting for that matter). I'm sure that the car really isn't that bad...but saying that I can't see him moving out of his seat into anything lessor...

As far as young Rodney's FF experience goes, he raced in and won the NSW FF championship (1997 I think?) and then won the Bathurst FF race from the rear of the grid by avoiding a lot of carnage. He thought it was all too easy and never went on to race in the National FF series. I guess dad could afford to put him straight into V8s. A front runner at State will usually be about 10-15th at National unless they are really special. I believe he would be a better driver if he had done the extra year.
