Peter S should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
British Rallycross @ Lydden Hill

Looks like Tony Bell will be back with his Toyota Corolla Wrc, especially for the start marshalls hehe!!

He is one of nine supercars to have entered so far.....but the entry is still open. entry list is on news section of www.rallyracing.nl doran will be added soon as well i think although that will probably be the only group b car as briggs in confirmed in his Audi TT. No Gibson on the entry list yet...so maybe the dummy has been spat big time.

The Ford KA is also scheduled to make its debut in Phil Collards hands! Exciting prospect.....will it match the flying Micra of evans?

Glad you put drivers will be added to entry list over next 2 days otherwise poor entry. I no Gibson may not show but where's Mundy? I no Doran will be on list as well, but its the modifieds I worry about, Rogers, Turpin, Dresser,Wheatley, Sellars, Rose, Moroney, Bourner said he would be there. Drivers better start supporting this modified championship, or it will go tits up.

I would fully expect Mundy to be there. Keving Mccann from Ireland has entered his Fiesta in the modified category as his Subaru Impreza supercar is still being prepared

Thats the problem sometimes, when drivers like Gibson, and Turpin feel they no longer have a chance in the championship, so they scale back in preparation for next year.

There are lots of new cars being built for 2004, and when i say lots i mean lots. This applies to both the modified and supercar categorys. I guess it is proving difficult to build a new car and run the exsisiting one at the same time.

Although at the start of the year there was talk that there should be around 50 modified cars. On average there is around 15 at the moment.

Another driver who promised to be there was Greg rose in his new peugeot 205 modified racer (last years stock hatch champ)

It is turning into a Evans v Bellerby championship battle.

The new Exige of dresser is waiting for a couple of componets as it was provided with faulty parts. Apart from that the new Lotus is ready to rock "n" roll. he had sold his metro but rolled it in ireland.

It will be interesting to see how many drivers go to Knockill for the round after this as it is a long hall for some.

Phil Collards Ka broke cover at the Lydden test day at the end of March, there's a photo of it on the SEMSEC website. The more new cars (or old cars for that matter) that turn up the better, the modified entry is looking a little light at the moment.

Apprently there are a lot complaining of the driving standards of some drivers, two in particular (one Supercar driver and one modified driver), with a lot of needless damage being caused. The supercar driver was penalised at Mondello, but there are some unhappy with a certain modified driver. After seeing the Nutts coverage these seem to be wild and prepared to do anything to try and win, although there tactics havent been succesfull yet.

Bellerby is a very aggresive little man agreed, but as a spectator thats what I want to see, yes he should stay in the laws but when I look back at some of my favourite rallycross moments it involves notally aggresive drivers. Rob Gibson springs to mind, they all used to moan about him but he got some great results and masterly overtaking, Olle Arnesson was always nudging car in front, come to that so do most Swede's, Tony Drummond, Schanche when not in front, Pekka Ranternan. In Britain its always been the case for drivers to conserve there cars, in turn not pushing 100% as there budgets wouldn't allow it, so when aggresive drivers do push the boundries its frowned upon, yes it is non contact and I don't like cars damaged but drivers have got to expect contact at some point. Stock hatch Holland brothers are the dirtiset drivers Ive watched in recent years, using there oval track tactics in rallycross is not on, **** off back to banger racing if they like.

I agree with that completely...we all love a racer and a trier........thats why Paul Tracy is so popular in CART racing.

Rallycross in Europe has now become a lot cleaner as contact is not accepted. In the eighties it was constant banging between all drivers in Europe (Gollop used to be one of the dirtiest in 87) but now it is cleaner and a lot fairer, if not the observers step in, as Hansen found out with Eklund last year. This is being attempted to be reflected in the British series.

Speaking to some british fans and drivers, they have stated that they wont compete as the officials are to freightened to do anything about it incase they drive away the drivers they penalise from the sport. It is fine line that is being tread, and the issue that happened between carnegie and gibson was settled in such a manner that it was taken very lightly and some are saying Gibson didnt suffer as much as he should off.

From what i have seen over the first rounds this year, Lawrence Gibson has been wild, out of control and a danger to other drivers. His driving at Nutts Corner was a disgrace, which was even worse at Mondello. It has been said that he is a desperate driver in an uncomptitve car using bully boy tactics. I think happened and is more than likely to happen again as Gollop and Carnegie are the class of the field (and were/are in danger of running away with the championship), which means that the older Group B cars have to resort to these sort of tactics to get to the front.

I think the Bellerby situation is different as he is a hard trier and gives it all. This therefore means he trys to overtake not just sit and bumper watch.

It is a difficult situation for the organizers.

Looks like we're in for an entertaining Bank Holiday Monday then...

Us marshals are going to be pretty busy by the sound of it!

More than 1 junior minicrosser this time? And this time I hope he doesn't try to run me over!
At least we should have some new start beams - will allow us to operate more efficiently. No more Keystone Cop accusations!

Yeah he suffered two differential failures (one at croft and then one at nutts) then the engine went bang as well. Spare parts are apperently becoming impossible for the 6R4's.
