Someone needs to tell the Peugeot Sport webmaster that the car is called 908 instead of 90x |

Can't wait for Sebring now, where the 908(Peugeot-Sport Total)will be confronted to the 908(ORECA Matmut)

I wonder if they're still using the same tub as the old car. It looks very similar.

Don't believe me: http://www.peugeot-sport.com/en/endu...es-fronts.html
There's even a section highlighted called "Four Identical Wheels". There has been issues, according to Peugeot, of a lack of front mechanical grip with modern LMPs since the days of the retired of the R8. Shorter wheel base and engines being moved forward and wider wheels and tires should fix that. Hence the rumors of Audi wanting to do the same with the R15, and having done so with the R18. The Acura ARX-02 showed that the concept can work. But until tires actually designed for the job were made, it wouldn't be entirely satisfactory. Audi and Peugeot paid Michelin to develop those tires, Acura/HPD/Wirth didn't. |

So Davidson, Sarrazin and Montagny will be doing all 7 races... interesting re-shuffle for Petit Le Mans though compared to the Spa/LM trios.

Pagenaud only does Spa and Le Mans. Perhaps this means that he is free to do ALMS with Highcroft.

Just got back from work and was a bit surprised that is was......basically the same car as the test car spy shot.
Am sure it is a big evolution under the skin based around about a smaller lighter V8. |

This concept of calling the new car a 908 is very confusing!
Only reason for it is to keep it in line with modern productions 308 (renewed soon), 408 (South America & Asia only), 508 (launched today) and also the 3008. The 208 should be launched next year too. So one can understand the marketing need for the 908 name, but still, they could at least call it something like 908+, 908 evo 2, 908 II, 908 V8 or whatever they want to differ from the former 908 HDI FAP (which everyone calls 908 already, and furthermore the lack of official 'HDI FAP' designation on the new one doesn't help much since it is a HDI FAP engine... sigh) I guess we'll have to take the initiative by ourselves to call it 908 II in order to avoid too much confusion in cars and race topics, especially since both generations of 908 will race together indeed... |

After the innitial disappointment has worn off, I have to say I´m optimistic about the new 908. It looks even more beautiful than the original 908 and I trust that the Peugeot engineers know what they´re doing. Fancy aerodynamics don't equal speed, the original R15 has shown that... |

It does look a little bit better from the side angle. Also, the shark fin with Pug livery doesn't look as noticeable and retarded as with R18.
I also love how F1sport... I mean Autosport have still not said a word about the launch! |

Alex Davidson? "After a strong season in 2011, which saw it claim the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) title, Peugeot Sport will be looking to defend its crown........" Getting a bit ahead of themselves! |

P.S. Imagine if one of these cars casually rolled out of a garage while the F1 folk were out there testing... |

The major question remaining about this car is...
... where are the exhaust exits? They're not in front of the front wheels like they were on the previous 908, I don't see exhaust outlets on the engine cover (at least not in the photos we have seen so far), so... are they blowing into the diffuser by any chance? |
