You don’t need much driving to drink- seems a bicycle will do.....

Mmm, pizza. Am saving that pleasure for Imola, although the pizzeria we found in Praia da Rocha last year was pretty good, so maybe not.

Sorry, it is only my opinion, but I think there is an awful lot of scaremongering going on.....

Anyway, it may be topical but this discussion is probably turning some tenthers to drink.....

Yes!! I've just returned from a trip to the bar, where we discussed..... windmills! There's a bit of a rumpus going on because they want to put the damn things up at Agincourt, which is supposed to be the equivalent of a SSI.

Asian Hornets were subject matter too. I've killed four in my house in recent weeks & discovered what appears to be a nest in my junk room this evening, so it's a call to the Sapeur Pompiers in the morning. Down at La Cascade they'd killed three during the day & Arthur the Chef caught two more in the kitchen this evening. He's pickled them in vinegar, so they will be tomorrow's Special on the menu!

Seems that early frost was not enough to kill them off. I have to say they take quite a beating before they die.

I’ve not seen a Hornet since moving to S Norfolk, but in the last few years I lived in the north of the county they became quite common. Less aggressive than wasps, but more intimidating......

What’s different about an Asian Hornet? (Awaits silly answers.....)

And Thank you Apple for putting the iPad numerical key back where it used to be! I thought it was me......

Asian Hornets are rather nasty & sightings should be reported. They originally arrived in the south of France a few years ago in a consignment of pottery or something from China, but have only recently reached this far north this year. I believe they have now crossed the Channel. Two people here have died as a result of being stung by them.

For anyone interested there is a 2 hour highlights programme on Freesports 4pm Sunday, always assuming that you can receive Freesports tv. Personally I've been avoiding the results from last weekends race so as to watch the highlights as it's fractionally more interesting than F1 these days.

Well actually these came from China! Haven't you encountered any in Paree?

Don't worry, Gerard. Robert will struggle to find a razor blade in Luton as not many people there shave - maybe the women, but who would know?

John et Gerard, my life was peaceful and happy, I rested easy in my bed at night, my days spent in a state of euphoria, knowing all was well with the world, and God was in his heaven - and then!

I started to read Delta's Tea Break. Now my few remaining hairs are turning grey, my baby smooth complexion becoming wrinkled, and baggy eyed, woe is me disaster looms, we're all doomed

Tsunamis, earthquakes, global warming, fuel shortages, pensions lost, dark clouds of war on the horizon, and Lewis Hamilton about to become World Champion - again.

What is there left to live for, the season all most over, Nick retiring, can matters get worse?

I must get hold of a train timetable ………

To avoid any further upset about derailing a motoring thread (the vague connection is electric cars) I'll just say that wind turbines (like solar panels) require a lot of energy in their manufacture and installation.
Apparently until recently that was more than they generate, so their environmental benefit is rather less than advertised.

If you investigate many of the so called green projects, you will discover that they are are actually the exact opposite. Recycled paper and board is a case in mind.

I have a massive archive of old jokes. Are they worth re-cycling, or would the cost outweigh the benefit?

Note to Gordon; I was led to believe that the 'Tea Break' was the place for humour rather than serious discussions on motoring, which have any number of outlets on the forum. Am I labouring under a misapprehension?
