So, is Charlie B-H Vikki's lesser half, and will she get a guest drive at some point to prove she's quicker?!

racingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Don't expect her to guest in the Astra, although she did do a couple of Clio WS races at Brands last year, and did the porsche cup at Brands this year - she's competent.

Is the Carly Motors/Schnitzer Sportscars entry offically confirmed? When they announced this project Carly Pellinkhof said there were some financial hurdles to take.

Entries only become official when they are registered with the championship. Wait and see what the entry list is come registration deadline day. Then it's official.

Which is when? IIRC it's usually quite early - Feb-March?

I believe that the deadline is around the end of February. WRT Carly, Ferrier & Hanson were due to be sponsored by their own company - Schnitzersports, and that there was some problem with Schnitzer in Germany... I also note that their website is no longer functioning - coincidence????

Is that just a wild rumour or fact that Schnitzer in Germany had a problem with them using the (roughly the) same name in the BTCC?

Widely reported rumour late last year - need to remember that Scnitzer & Carly are direct competitors.

I think there's some major confusion stepped in here.

Carly Motors (who ran the BMW GB/Priaulx entry in ETCC this year) were all set to run the cars.

Ferrier and Hanson launched the team at Brands Hatch last year under the Schnitzer Sportscars banner. They work as UK importers of road-tuned cars/parts from Schnitzer in Germany. This division is called Schnitzer Sportscars.

I think Schnitzer stepped in and said 'no' to them using the Schnitzer name in their team title.

Where they've gone since appears to be a bit of a mystery.

Apologies - thought Carly Motors ran it or at least oversaw it.

it wouldn't surprise me if he don't get another drive after the way he acted last season he was like a spoilt kid, would anyone want that in their team!!!! I don't think he was very professional especially after that rant in Autosport about Tom Boardman he is a total hypocrit.

Didn't Carly Motors run the works GB team in 2002 (with little success)?

Let's do a quick roundup of what we've got:

Triple 8 Vauxhall - Thompson, Muller, Hines
PSP Proton - Hairuman, Watson-Smith
Arena Honda - Chilton (second car possible)
Dynamics Honda - Neal (second car possible)
SEAT - Plato, Huff
West Surrey MG - One or two cars, Turkington and Collard favourites
GA Alfa - Breeze and Wallace
GA Astra - Butler-Henderson and another
Varta Honda - two cars likely
Carly - now unlikely - Ferrier and Hanson main driving candidates
Synchro Honda - Kaye
VLR Peugeot - Eaves and Buxton likely
Kartworld MG - Jason Hughes
RJN Nissan - possible

That makes anywhere from 20 to 26 cars. A good field even without some of the rumoured teams.

Correct, Duncan Huisman drove this BMW in 2002:

source: www.carlymotors.com

Duncan scored 9 points and was 9th in the championship.

Bentwood is a very good driver and should be out this year in a FWD car as he wants to show his ability in both F and RWD. Having run T.B. and M.B.I would say that M.B. is a safe professional talented driver who understands what a car is doing entirely opposite to T.B.in all aspects.

Vauxhall are sitting pretty again, all the other factory teams have shot themselves in the foot for a variety of reasons.

Might as well give them the teams and constructors title now, and probably the drivers as well.

If M.B is such a good driver he should have the professional manor and not slate over drivers the way he did, he should be able to control his temper on and off the the track as a reader of Autosport I found it very childish and I would expect something like that to come from a rookie, not someone that has been racing for as long as he has, I find it pathetic that he seems to think there was some sort of conspiracy against him from. And good luck to Tom for the 2004 season!!!
