Pretty much on the mark.

I gave it a 3.

This circuit shows up F1 at it's least entertaining under the current regs. A tyre saving endurance run over a sprint race distance.

WEC is more a sprint than F1 these days!

He had plenty of rubber in hand Adam.

He used the 'oh i might be running out of tyres' line again like he has several times but still somehow managed to coax it home ?

I think that's a bit unfair on this occasion.

IIRC - his comment shortly before pitting was 'tyres are still good', and then towards the end of the race he said 'these tyres are going to be old' - to which the reply came 'Max's will be older'....

The "if i've got any left" was the one i was thinking of. He'd only had them on about 10 laps! Lol

I suspect he and his engineer understand each other and the context. And I’m not talking about any put on deceit in the messages. We are listening in on other people’s conversation, but only every now and again and they have a fantastic relationship built over many years. I wouldn’t be surprised if we miss the some subtleties.

That exchange just showed that Hamilton was musing that there wouldn’t be much performance in the tyres by the end because he was going for it. Engineer reminded him that Verstappen would be worse. Hamilton replied he agreed and seemed enthused by it.

These exchanges are great to hear, but we would do well to not read too much into them.
