[V8DVS09R06] Fujitsu Series @ Bathurst

We are already 5 rounds into the season, and there have been a number of players there or there abouts, swapping race wins, fastest laps, pole positions and the like

On current form, and time in the car (other cars) at this track, you would have to think that Mr Webb should be pretty confident of success there. Mr Russell also.

While Mr Moffat slowly creeps up on the place... and Mr Denyer scrapes off his inevitable rust (as described by Mr Wheeler on #7 on the weekend)

This may well be a championship deciding weekend!

Entry list will be interesting, we are likely to see a full grid too

$5 on the #60 Race Image car for a podium!

I'll see you on that $5 GTR. I don't think the Race Image car will do all that well. Be interesting to see how drew Russell goes in his new car at Bathurst too.

The 'new' car is a few seasons old now, although SBR powered... if it is intact to its full house BJR spec, it should be one of the first D-headed engines too. It may take some time to tune it in...

Well, its an '07 model that spend allof '08 and half of '09 in the BJR shed and its being tested at Winton sometime this week, apparently.

So, are you putting-up that five or not? Do you want to make it 10?

I believe so... the car would likely have done this on fresh tyres... but its still a good time considering its freezing cold (poor tyre temp) and some wind is around to knock about the top speeds...

Qualifying in '08 for Mr Owen was a '7 however... some way to go yet

We need volunteers in motorsport.........BUT the efforts of the fire marshal the Arron McGill pulled up in front of at pit entry needs to have some more training. He fell off the tyre wall and then took ages to get the pin out of the extinguisher. In that time Aaron had opened the bonnet and took the engine cover off whilst the engine bay was on fire.

A shame Mr Moffat had a ding at the end of the Qualifying session.. The only blemish on a really great session.

When you watch the footage, Mr Moffat was absolutely at one with his toy, loads of grip with 2 wheeling in places. The bloke looked super comfortable on track... With proud dad AlPal looking quite chuffed too.

Mr Webb did well to get pole...

Matters arising from Race 1:

Following an investigation and an admission by Jonathon Webb Car #26 that he had failed to maintain the prescribed speed after the Safety Car lights were extinguished, the Stewards imposed a fine of $1,000 suspended until 9/10/10.

UPDATE 2: 1200hrs Friday 9th October 2009

Matters arising from Qualifying:

The Stewards approved Car #49 Ben McCashney and Car #43 Aaron McGill, to start Rear of Grid Race 1. Both Drivers did not have qualifying time within 110% of the fastest time.

Further matters arising from Practice 2:

Following the receipt of further information, that the incident with Car #47 Andrew Anderson, (fail to engage speed limiter in Pit Lane) had occurred not during the Practice Session, the Stewards withdrew the penalty.

UPDATE 1: 1800hrs Thursday 8th October 2009

Matters arising from Practice 1:

James Moffat Car #999 and Ben McCashney Car #49 were each given a warning by the Stewards for speeding in Pit Lane.

Matters arising from Practice 2:

Following an investigation and an admission by Andrew Anderson Car #47, that he had failed to engage the speed limiter in Pit Lane, the Stewards excluded Car #47 from the session.
