Some good, some not so good.

Only 8 Escorts which is a little disappointing.

Well that didn’t go to plan....

Ten Escorts in qually, down to 9 after the Tom Walkinshaw tribute RS2000 dropped out.

Black Zakspeed Mk2 lost it at Paddock on opening lap taking out another Mk1 and blocking the track at the bottom of Paddock leaving Daniel nowhere to go.

Not sure if shell is fixable, will find out later in the week, main thing is Daniel’s ok just a bit stiff this morning

Thanks John, I think the Hans saved him from injury, as he has a stiff neck this morning.

As for the shell, that may be a different story, but itís a genuine Mexico, so we are going to try to save it.

Great shame for the Escorts, pretty frightening to watch from the top of paddock watching them all lock up behind the errant black car. Could have been a lot worse for everyone involved.
Some great racing from the FFords, 2000's, road sports and the touring cars in beautiful autumn sunshine at Brands. Bob Bullen had a good result in his Anglia seeing off a couple of Cortinas to get on the podium in their first race and Andrew Park made a terrific start from 6th on the grid in the FF2000's, gaining 3 places by Druids and fighting with Nelson Rowe for the lead and eventual win. Will Leverett in the beautiful Elan was pretty impressive to get that win from the back of the grid in their 2nd race.
In never fails to amaze me that these meetings are so under supported by spectators given the quality fields and good, fair racing, many thanks to the HSCC and all involved for some superb track action. I was torn between the HSCC at Brands and the CSCC meeting at Thruxton but my season ticket at BH made the decision for me.

The competition between circuits/meetings or the fact that there is good, clean racing as opposed to the hip and shoulder of the BTCC?

No I meant the clash of historic and historic-esque racing, comparatively close together.

We often have this conversation. When I first raced at brands in the 70's and Gordon I suspect the whole of the banking was full of spectators cars.I blame Sunday shopping.

Yes you're right and I have made similar comments before, actually for once there was a good crowd in the paddock hill grandstand possibly drawn by the promise of the late summer sunshine but only a few sparse spectators scattered around the circuit and on South Bank.
I was at Castle Combe the weekend before for their club finals day and as usual there was a strong supportive audience right round the circuit in contrast to the mediocre turnout for most club meetings at Brands, maybe your right - they all go to Bluewater or some such place!
I know that I'm diehard race fan in attending the less popular meetings but the general public seem totally oblivious to anything except F1 or ridiculously overpriced pseudo historic events with "names" behind the wheel.
