Armchair Enthusiast should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
New Member to Ten-Tenths

Hi Guys and Gals,

My name is Matthew Poat, I have a degree in Motorsport Engineering from Coventry University and I have worked for over two years in Motorsport Sales and Technical Support, first with Varley Red Top racing batteries, now with STACK.

I don't race (although I did my first track day last week at Brands Hatch in the Renault Megane and Formula Palmer Audi...... Brilliant) but thoroughly love my motorsport.

I spend a lot of time on my computer so I tend to end up downloading races I have missed from a special website which specialises in supplying motorsport events for download (If you are interested in this, drop me a line).

Hopefully I will have something more to say next time I appear on here.

Best Wishes

Matthew Poat

Welcome to ten/tenths Matthew. Nice informative 1st post. Hope you enjoy yourself finding your way around the site & make some new contacts.

Don't forget the marshals' forum, we don't bite (if you bring cake) & are always looking for new people to join us on the bank.

I have actually joined the BMMC, since I will soon be living in Towcester and so getting across to Silverstone (although not my favourite circuit) wouldn't be a hassle, when my girlfriend is on weekends.

I just need to get my overalls and then I am good to go......

Don't need overalls to be honest, not to start with at least. Just good strong waterproof boots, plenty of layers & food, then your good to go. If you do some searching or digging on here you'll find plenty of threads in the marshals' forum relating to what equipment you'll need etc.
Good area to move to as well. Plenty of circuits within easy reach & usually always someone who would be more than willing to give a lift.

Matthew if you do want overalls that well know auction site has Dickies Orange Welding overalls at a good price but as Col said you do not need them, just natural fibers. Welcome to the forum and if you reconise me from my photo at Silverstone come and say hello.
