Phoenix1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Jay Leno

Here in the UK Jay Leno and David Lettermens shows always go virtually head to head on television and Letterman often promotes his IRL team. Now this is meant as a marketing thought and not a IRL vs. OWRS flame bait. From reading articles Jay rights for "The Times" in the UK it is obvious he not only collects cars but also is fasinated in them and their history.

My thought therefor went along the lines of if Letterman has a race team how come Jay does not (last refrence I could find was one back in 1995 with Tim Allen) and if not would it be something he might do in OWRS?

He often does stunts on the main street so having a OWRS driver on would boost awareness for just his team but the whole OWRS ferturnity.

I have also sent an email to the Jay Leno show asking what racing intreasts he has. The last infomation, in terms of actual racing, was back in 1995 with Tim Allen.

Good post Phoenix1. Good question. Good idea. I assume that Letterman is talking up his IRL team because of the success they are having. The success of Rahal and Fernandez' recent win brings the question of how long before Long Beach in March were these owners working behind the scenes on their respective IRL teams and cars.

I hope that Leno replies - It would be awesome to see him become active in the CCWS.

Letterman's team has a Honda engine, mystery of success solved.

Personally I don't see great appeal in running a racing team unless it was for myself to race. Some people are more hands on, maybe that's the way Leno is.

Leno is a HUGE Porsche collector and fan, so I'd think he'd go ALMS first, wouldn't you? Sascha Maassen said they did like 360 KMs on a street together once.

No, Seinfeld is the huge Porsche collector. Seinfeld had a large garage facility built in order to store his collection.

Leno just purchased his first Porsche a Carrera GT.

Leno is an old car collector, vintage stuff, Stanlet Steamers, Dusenberg's etc.

Get a Carrera cup support race like F1 does, and I'm sure he'd show his face at every race (and bring camera's too!)
