I agree - like the black and white better. But all of their liveries are interesting.

I love how in GTE-AM they feel the need to keep bopping the cars even though there's also success ballast in place, with heaviest car being 1310kg now...

First of the standardized spec tire suppliers is to no-ones surprise Michelin. At least 3 years of no tire war quaranteed at the top
http://www.dailysportscar.com/2019/11/01/michelin-chosen-as-hypercar-tyre-supplier.html

I'm not sure what they're waiting for the rest since it's obviously going to be spec Goodyear for P2, spec Michelin for PRO, and (to keep Dun... Goodyear happy) spec Goodyear for AM

Hopefully not 'spec' but just single supplier in hypercar. But I'm not too optimistic on that.

Theres a race in Shanghai this weekend. No one has opened up a thread yet so if not by tomorrow I will. But Toyota is not on top in the two practice sessions so far. The #6 Ginetta is so far the best timed car in fp2. But it is very close among the three teams and hopefully it stays that way. The only thing is they're only a couple seconds away from the best lmp2. Looks like the success penalties are really slowing the cars.

It will be quite tricky to find something in February !!! For sure, not in Europe.

Go to Sepang with Asian Le Mans Series.

Or swap Sepang and Australia in Asian Le Mans Series and go to Australia.

I think they're limited to heading west to be in line with Sebring in March. The two posited ideas are possible, but COTA in February will be cold and I believe likely damp. And probably a ghost town.

Personally I'd love to see Road Atlanta but that's just cause it's a quick trip for me and purely selfish reasons.

Forgot about the Sebring tie in, good call.

I'm unfamiliar with American weather patterns (you guys have very hot places and very cold places and I can't work it out!) Is Indy completely out? Obviously new ownership is looking at IMSA stuff.

No Indy in winter. Weather there is usually just as bad as where I live that time of year. Makes me wish I lived where the woman in my avatar lives (in LA), and not just because she and her equally as hot sister live there.

Saying that, CA could be a good place to have a winter round if the ACO desire to have a round in winter not too far away from Sebring relative to Asia or Europe, but Long Beach is out of the picture for multiple reasons, not sure if the ACO would care to run California Speedway's road course, they won't like Sears Point/Sonoma, and Laguna Seca is probably small for a WEC race, even if the WEC field is just in the mid 30s as far as entry count.

In regards to my previous post, given that Interlagos might be confirmed as on or scrapped within the next two weeks or so according to the ACO, what are good, viable venues outside of those we've already mentioned like in the SW US or maybe SE US or COTA or Kyalmai? Especially one that can be booked on relatively short notice?

Could maybe as in SC365's comments section places like Dubai or Yas Marina in the UAE be viable options? Mind you, I think that Dubai or Yas Marina should maybe replace Bahrain for several reasons, but that's probably another discussion for another time.

Also, DSC has hinted that Mexico City could also be in the running.

I think the only track that would be available would be COTA within the US at this notice and time of year. It appears it could be great racing weather with a chance of a miserable event for fans and teams alike going by the past weather patterns.

This past spring wasn't bad in Georgia but we had a warm winter this year.

Laguna Seca would likely be out as the management is in the middle of a major dispute with the county owners of the track with neither side likely to budge. And additional dates are a tough sell to the NIMBYs.

Long Beach is full and not taking new races. They have to limit the support series as it is.

Daytona is February is full with 3 weeks of 500 prep. Don't think they have any interest in adding another road race series.

Indy would be insanely cold that time in the season. Although I could see Penske work to get a WEC race but I don't think the new calendar works for Indy hosting if it stays a winter series.

It does get chilly in Dubai in January. But not too bad and having driven it, I'm sure the WEC drivers would love it. Very similar to Algarve.

If the ACO and FIA are willing, I'd bet on Mexico City or Potrero de los Funes, as if nothing else it keeps it in an area of a captive Latin American audience.

I personally can't see COTA, since the ACO has some bad blood with Bobby Epstein and his management, and the track might barely be open in time for a WEC race late Jan./early Feb because the track will be closed until late Jan. for repairs to bumps that Moto GP and F1 teams have been complaining about.

However, that all being said, desperate times may mean desperate measures, especially if the ACO and FIA don't want to completely cancel the weekend and leave a huge gap between Bahrain in Dec. and Sebring in March.

That also being said, desperate times meaning desperate measures have also lead LMP1 into becoming what it has on the ACO's end.

Interesting that the sportscars main streaming media do not mention the reason for Sao Paulo cancellation. If everything is amplified, we hear nothing.

NASCAR Speedweeks is only 9 days. In '07 IndyCar tested Wednesday-Thursday on the off week between the 24 Hours and ARCA. The main reason there's that gap is because of the Super Bowl.

Mexico City seems the most desirable but depends on the government.
