Hello, new to 10-tenths,

I have an RT1 im restoring in the UK it has Gaudenzio Mantova history, if im honest I cant remember the chassis number exactly (cars at work) I think its chassis number 27. The car has been raced in the uk CF3 over the last few years.

would anyone have any pictures of the car in 76 or the 76 Monza race as this car may feature.

Any help would be welcomed, these cars look great in original liveries.

Cheers
Andrew

RT1 frame 36

Chris,

We spoke about my RT1 fram 36, I run the F3 french classic trophy since several years with it.
You said that you can prove that Dave Mc Millan run with the car in the FSV US series after he had run in Formula Atlantic championship; bought the car and modified it.
When I look the FSV results 1979 and 1980, he appears with a RT1; do you think it's the 36 frame, have you some answers about that

Thank's a lot

time sure does fly...

It's been two years since my last post here. Have made a fair number of RT-1 uploads to my Atlantic set since then....

My flickr stats tell me there's been some pic views coming from this thread so I put together a set featuring the RT-1.

As with all my stuff, there will be more added when I get the time......

Fwiw, The RT1 featured in the big Spa accident pictured elsewhere is the Swedish owned, ex Blaton/Ledamun converted F3 car. I spoke to the owner, nice chap, he confirmed he bought it from James. Its in FAt spec, with BDA, and went well.

Though not as well as Martyn Donn's beautiful T760

He pranged the right front tub on a corner marker but kept going. Scratch one engine. The water pipe was crimped and the tub tweaked on the corner but not affecting the pick up. Back at the shop in Ont. I straightened the tub, more or less. We really had little equipment. I only worked on the car part time. Bruce brought me a sheet of aluminium and a cardboard pattern and asked me fabricate a 2nd front bulkhead. Using a friend's workshop I did so. It turned out the pattern was not quite right! Close but not right. It was still used and pop riveted over the original front bulkhead. Yipe!! So if you see this "fix" you will know it is chassis 95. Car was probably sold in Florida where Bruce now lives.
Is this it ?

I have a Ralt RT1 chassis number 145 which I run in atlantic spec.

I see the car mentioned a few times in this thread but wondered if anyone has any more information on the car and original drivers and livery for the car.

New late 78 Matt, to Bernard Hunter for UK FAtlantic in 1979. 1980 to David Duffield for similar, then to 'Oz for Charlie O'Brien. Always a lovely dark blue livery in Britain.

Only the tub of no 86 was destroyed in the fire as the car had been stripped down for an overhaul in preparation for the 1979 season. A new tub was purchased from Ralt and the car was rebuilt using all the original ancilliary parts. Kenny raced the car in RMC colours until May when the March 793 arrived. Kenny believes the old chassis plate would have been attached to the new tub.The car and lots of spares were sold at the end of 1979.

In the mid 70s I crewed an RT-1 for Ed Donnelly. He ran California west coast club, some Formula Atlantic and finished 3rd in the SCCA runoffs. Anyone know what became of the cars? ( there were 2).

Ralt RT1-144

I just acquired RT1-144, and couldn't be happier!

Purchased by Otis Chandler for his son Michael for the 1979 season in Mini Indy and the FSV series.

Looking for photos of the car in its original livery.

Thanks!
