Shielded efi wires

A couple of questions shielding against emi for cam, crank and knock sensors.

How close to the connector at the ecu and the sensor should shielding extend to?

Are there any special requirements for a shielded with a thru bulkhead connector? How is the signal quality affected when you have to unwrap the cable and run it through a bulkhead fitting?
