You wait 'till you find out the Christian name of the winner of the first race you'll be double !
Oh, and on a point of trivia, the winner of the first (motorcycle) race when Donington Park originally opened was Cyril (known as 'Squib') Burton, my wife's uncle! |

Something for the youngsters to get their baby teeth into. Not too hard I'm sure. RBS you will, of course, find this ridiculously easy.
Simply name the makes of FF cars. For the avoidance of doubt it is the blue number 41 in pic 5 you have to ID. |

Think this has been up long enough to mention out loud one of the answers. The first race was won by Alistair Lyall in an ex-Alan Mann Ford Escort. I think it was painted red and yellow. The meeting may have been organised by Notts Sports Car Club. |

Red biro time (my sister was a school teacher). The correct spelling of Mr Lyall's first name is Alastair!

Re the Donington Quiestions, Notingham Sports Car Club were the organisers and the 1st race was won by Alastair Lyall in an Escort and fastest lap came in the clubmans race by Divina Galica.

You sure it was Divina Galica ? I recently spent the best part of a weekend trying to answer a similar question on TNF's Motorsport Quiz thread and after I had named nearly every other Clubmans driver of the 1970's, Mallory Dan nipped in with Richard de la Rue, apparently the correct answer.

I must admit that I read somewhere only very recently, in the last few days which is why I remember very clearly, that Divina Galica was fTD driver at that first meeting, and whether that was correct I cannot confirm.

I thought by moving up to FF I might get a few sensible answers for my latest wheeze, however, apart from RBS hitting 50% nothing!
If I were a sailor I would have to say weigh anchors and set sail. |

Who, what where & when
Time to offend bauble by including another one of my blotchy & out of focus pictures into his picture puzzles thread.
Who is the driver, in what car, at what circuit and what year is this? |

What did I miss, here? Nurse, doctor, Pauuuuul !!!
Wanting to have things clear, just collected the main dialogues. Part #1:
Why do Firemen wear red braces?Because Noddy wouldn't pay the ransom! I know it looks hard, however, all you need to do is to number the pictures 1 to 6. Don't be too clever, all the cars have an engine and four wheels after all.377 views and only one reply!!!! A clue. I just say that on my phone via Tapatalk this is the second picture? Not the sixth. Relative Tortoise has submitted a partial answer that is completely wrong, but he had some innovative ideas.Pic 1 is a Bugatti, a rare model, and is the hardest one to number. 5 Pic 1 5,0 litres. PM sent Ditto Sorry chaps no PM's in my box. I have tried again. Me too. I wish I hadn't. Last edited by Gerard C; 14 Feb 2021 at 08:07. |
