Galway Rally 2004
This is for anyone interested,
The Galway International Rally took place last weekend, it turned out to be one of the most tightly fought events in recent years, with only two minutes covering the top five places. The event was won by Tapio Laukkanen over Ulsters Eugene Donnelly in his newly accquired Corolla WRC, by just 7/10ths of a second. The top five positions: 1st. Tapio Laukanen, Subaru Impreza 2nd. Eugene Donnelly, Toyota Corolla WRC 3rd. Austin Mc Hale, Ford Focus WRC 4th. Derek Mc Garrity, Subaru Impreza 5th. Eamonn Boland, Subaru Impreza It was the first round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, sponsored by "PIRELLI" If this is the start then Let the "GAMES BEGIN" ??????????? |

Would be interestin to see if Tapio would do the full championship. Great performance again by Donnelly in what still has to be classed as an outdated car in that pedigree of line-up. Austin seems to have got a new lease of life, but for a few teething problems with the Focus he was at the front. Looking forward to see how Donie O'Sullivan gets on as the year progresses.
