Does anyone know if JAS (or anyone!) is working on the new FL5 generation Civic to convert into a TCR car?

With no news about a TCR version of the new Civic I find it hard to believe the car will race in 2023. More likely it will be introduced and on sale for the 2024 season.

They take the project very serious, but that's not a surprise to me.

Max price of TCR cars has increased in recent years. Don't know how much that's because manufacturers see it as a cash cow or it's really due to inflation. Almost everything has increased in price so it's not strange also racing cars have done.

BTW Car looks great in plain white livery.

Also there is this thing... TGR Argentina still didn't confirm a works TC2000 or Top Race programme for 2023*, so as of now, this is the only official project in charge of Ramonda, while the Dole programs (the ones in charge of TC and TCPK) are confirmed and looking to expand to TC Pista and the other lesser series with the Camry.


*The TC2000 is almost confirmed, if we take the rumours as serious, with 3 to 4 cars (and also rumours of an SUV)

After the frankly grotesque accident in the TCR Asia race at Macau its fair to say that the Hyundai is a wonderfully strong car.

TCR China was good, Huff won race 1, came from 9th to P2 in race 2. Good close action. The MG is a great looking car.

Not a great looking crash, but it does show the strength of the car certainly.

Nice to have some decent series this weekend and good to see Huff has still got it with two great races. Certainly a better weekend than if the WTCR had run here. Plenty of good variety of cars here

Organisers of the TCR South America series have confirmed that 26 cars are set to appear on track during the 2023 campaign.

Honda, Toyota, Cupra, Audi, Hyundai, Peugeot, Alfa Romeo and Lynk & Co will all be represented, with a total of ten teams having confirmed plans to join the grid.

I enjoyed the first seasons of V8 Supertourers. Unfortunately it was not viable, like probably any other series with a strict ruleset (like for example TCR).

TCR South America has very few entries that do the full season

The car might do the full season but a lot have a different driver every round

The 2022 season had 67 drivers enter a race across the season. Yes TCR SA has a couple of endurance races where its 2 drivers to a car

If you exclude those drivers who just co drove at those races so that is about 25 driver who just did those

That means 42 drivers drove at some point in the other rounds

Only 6 drove in every race.
