The Chassis that Paul designed for us also became virtually the identical chassis for the first two Pace Innovations V8 SuperCar prototypes, which were tested extensively prior to the Mark Skaife led committee, deciding to convert the two prototypes to Independent rear ends etc.

Our V8ST front upright was also designed to be universal, as in it fitted both Left and Right hand suspension. This idea also migrated into the Marc cars.

Were V8 Supercars went wrong is caving into pressure from several of the teams and allowing them to build their own control "Pace designed" chassis in house, this destroyed the potential cost saving's overnight and also shafted Pace Innovations because V8 Supercars never compensated them for the loss of business that followed. Paul had to "Suck it Up" as he could not afford to get offside with the powers to be.

I could go on and on, but it's water under the bridge as they say.

So carry on the good work Dude, because unlike Rusty you do know what you are talking about, but hey the show was Rusty's idea so good on him for driving the bus!

Cheers,

Mark.

The Dude is indeed knowledgeable, and his experience as a team owner shows through; but to say Rusty is clueless is a bit of a stretch to say the least.

If you watch and listen carefully, Rusty states his opinion and then Paul corrects him...then Rusty agrees with Paul and they move on.

Happens multiple times.

Your words not mine, however, in hindsight perhaps I should have used the word's on technical matters.... etc.

Another great episode, but I just wonder how long before they get some nasty legal letters wanting to shut them down!

The dudes views on what Chad does or should do next year are very interesting.

I noticed towards the end of the program, when The Dude & Russell were discussing commentating at the next Supercars round at QLD Raceway, Rusty seems to still harbour a little animosity towards Skaife (no surprises there !) What surprised me though, was that Larko's name was mentioned in the same breathe.
My question is, Does anyone know what Larko has said/done that has offended The Enforcer? They always seemed to have a pretty good relationship in years gone by

Mr Ingall made it very clear that he hadn’t had so much as a phone call from any of his former FoxSports broadcasting ‘family’ since his rapid and unpredicted departure at the end of last year. It clearly still annoys him, even though he tried to suggest it didn’t.

If thats true then that is terrible by the whole team and just goes to show "smile for the camera" only for fakeness and not friendship.

This program is exactly what Aussie motorsport needs. But the real surprise packet is the emergence of Paul Morris as Youtube /TV's new revelation. His knowledgeable as a Team Owner/Board Member/Driver/Petrol Head is interesting & his insight is entertaining.

Meanwhile, The Enforcer can come across as a grumpy ol' has-been with several axes to grind. Be careful Russell, you'll win no friends by dumping on a good guy like Larko.

The concept is great, could do with a little better structure, but then it would be a full blown production and would loose that rawness.

But yes, Rusty needs to tread carefully right now that he doesn't get the wrong people offside. But then he was the butt of old jokes and a lot of people said he was difficult to deal with, especially his high retainer.

Guys

I'm listening to and really enjoying a couple of other podcasts on Supercars now, what do we think about having a single thread to talk about all things podcast, including YouTube in this?

Even with 4 years experience on Fox, Russell Ingall still comes across awkward in front of the camera. I find myself tuning out when he speaks. Paul Morris is the reason I watch it.

I agree, out of the people in the telecast, other than Riana I found Russell the most difficult to relate to.

What I'm enjoying out of this, Below the Bonnet and Rusty's Garage is these people being allowed to speak more freely and in more detail than we get on the real coverage.

Haven't listened to any of the Below the Bonnet ones yet.

Mr Noonan's one can be difficult to listen to at times. Often asking a question, then interjecting and answering it for them, or correcting trivial things and going off on tangents. Or asking a question, and offering up two answers to it.

Noonz podcast is way too safe, it toes a Supercars company line.
Reynolds and Caruso are very entertaining.
Rusty and Morris are great, honest and entertaining.
Racing Insiders is interesting although sometimes they try way too hard to be funny.
Theres that other one where those too old blokes record it talking in each others dunnies, but its almost unlistenable.

Mr Ingall clearly isn't in the market for a car like this.. nor used to driving one..

Although it does look like it's been to the local branch of Halfords* with the instruction 'if you've any body kit parts left over, just see if you can stick them on somewhere...'

*insert name of local version of the store.

True. Has me wondering what it would have been like to put that engine into the Accord body shape. It’s ~200kg heavier, but feels every bit like it’s built like a brick out house...

Worse than that, I suffered a trip through motorway roadworks alongside someone who'd done a private version of that on a CRV, complete with silver metal foil wrap. I had to concentrate on the grass verge to avoid accidentally looking at it...

I can’t watch this, having tried several times.

Morris just comes across as being a screwdriver short of a toolkit, and I think his total vocabulary is about 100 words deep.

Would love to hear more from Roland or Dr Story though - some smart cookies there.
