Chucky should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Clipsal is the answer you're looking for.

Still another Aston running complete with ecstatic new owner who couldn't be happier with his change of scenery.

And now another Viper and four Moslers.

Big gun field for next year with big events.

Is the Porka a definite re-shell? I had a quick look at Sandown and it didn't look too bad, but I didnt have a close look at the whole car, only the front left corner.

It bent all of the centre section of the chassis as well as substantial damage to the engine and front rails/suspension.

The centre section is worth nearly as much as the car is worth to replace. What a stupid piece of pricing policy.

That would be the GT management you are referring to?

If the race car retains the aluminium construction it wouldn't be a cheap thing to repair.

Yes, the Cup S is a definite re shell. Looks like it could be repairable but with the price of a shell sub 40K (plus taxes and shipping) it'd be too line ball particularly with some of the tensile steel elements of the old shell being vulnerable to future bangs and the "memory" that even a repaired shell would have.

Combine that with the fact that it would otherwise have been a repaired car as opposed to a reshell and the economies start to make real sense - think resale time ...

As for the Aston, the whole alloy centre of the body section is bent waaaay out of shape and the specially bonded alloy sections are so bad that its not a viable repair.

Not a pricing thing I think but that its a specialist and very bespoke bit of kit. From what I hear you could buy a nice 996 Cup Car for the price of the replacement tub alone ...

Always one step behind. They were last years thing to have. The trick is to actually get the next big thing!

Yes, of course he will.

Like every other competitor in GT he's not afraid to tear up $450,000 and after the stack simply mumbled "oh well", sold off another investment property and flipped the bird at his bank and wife whilst heading off to Mosler shop with his AMEX.

Are you for real?

Baahhhh (get et?) humbug.

Don't say it too loud. It'll appear as fact in the next chip wrapper issued by the Carlton Crew.

Have they got a website somewhere? I will let GT know that I have heard of a another next best thing.
Hey Skidmarks-- was that the price of the car at $450K or the entry fee for GT 2009 you are quoting?

Sounds great, BJR should run one for Andy, give him something to drive until the enduro's come around.

We presume in all this that Mr Kaias wasnt hurt in the wreck??

Meantime... the AmEx points on $450k would be sweet

Except some seem to be missing the sarcasm in the above

JK apparently not hurt physically, but pretty bent out of shape in every other way.

Easy to miss Skidmarks sarcasm, subtlety is a hallmark of his communications!

If you're gonna have a go at the management, there ARE things to say about the decisions being made. but to do it like ^^ that, just undermines your worth.

Tony Quinn, a name synonymous with Australian motorsport, is to join the Australian GT Championship following his purchase of the JMC Motorsport Aston Martin DBRS9. A long standing racer Quinn more recently competed in Carrera Cup, a category he once part owned, in addition to driving in major international endurance events in his Porsche GT3 997 RSR with huge success. In addition to the above, the versatile driver has also driven in various tarmac rallies. Quinn’s Aston Martin debut will take place at the final round of the 2008 Australian GT Championship for the Sandown GT Classic at Sandown Park in Melbourne on November 28-30. Committed to the full 2009 Australian GT Championship season, Quinn says he is delighted to join this ever expanding category’. "The public have had enough of ‘one make’ series in this country and the time is right for Australian GT”. "The category is getting bigger and better all the time and the Aston Martin will be the perfect machine for me and my VIP Petfoods team to debut in the category and hopefully run at the pointy end of the field. I am really looking forward to my first run in the car at the Sandown GT Classic in a month’s time”. The Quinn Aston Martin was imported into Australia by JMC Motorsport earlier this year to expand on the number of cars and marques in the Championship and was sold due to an overwhelming demand from new GT Championship competitors. JMC Motorsport is now looking overseas again with the view to bringing in more cars of various marques in the near future to satisfy the demand for the 2009 season that has already seen a Porsche GT3 997 Cup S for PR Technology Racing, a Dodge Viper GT3 for Ross Lilley, the ex-Lilley Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 for Dean Grant, and three Trofeo Maseratis join the field.
Is Mr Quinn likely to continue to run in GT considering his new expansion? Here

Not bad for a business that started at ground zero...

I don't know Tony personally, but he's found enough time to run in Carrera Cup over the years with huge year on year business expansion. So I'm pretty sure this sort of acquisition will just be business as usual.

Its not like a small bolt on... its doubling the size of his business.. with an entity that has been into administration at least twice in recent memory... Mr Quinn was described in some articles as 'semi-retired' but with this thing, that wont be possible!
