[NZST12R7] Ruapuna - 24th - 25th November
Hey all just started a New Thread for the round, please leave old arguments in other threads and talk about what should be an exciting final round.
Questions for the round, I have to ask what is the Murph and Mclaughlins teams doing to make there cars so much quicker than everyone else? Will Johnny Mac be able to bounce back? Who are peoples picks to surprise this Round? It seemed the Fords went slower after the rules changes in the last round will they pick up the pace? |

I'd almost suggest that anything not pertaining directly to this weekends racing directly is deleted asap.
Co-driver news, Luke Youlden is back with Eddie Bell for this weekend, the car is all rebuilt after the wreck at Pukekohe. |

Remember when Murphy was a bit off at the 2nd HD meeting. He told me it ( his car) was all over the place. They had found something ( Over first couple of meetings) that worked, but then others caught up. What I have enjoyed so far is that at each round you have had different people at the Front from the last meeting , not so much doing the winning but running inside the top 6, then the next weekend they qualify 16th or what ever. |

Well both have hit a sweet spot that doesn't seem to change from meeting to meeting where others as you say are 3rd then 13th. Can't wait to see the racing Sunday as I can't make Christchurch.

I thought it was something to do with a rear suspension set-up but am happy to be corrected.
My picks for top 3 are: 1. McGlaughlin/Webb 2. Murph/Perkins 3. Booth/ Dalberto And i also think that maybe. just maybe Eddie Bells car may surprise this weekend. He has had a shocker to be fair and should be all fired up for this and his co-driver is top notch too. |

I think van der drift and edgell will surprise the team was gutted with the engine dramas as they had started to find some speed at Puke, to good peddlers both with something to prove. |

can i just copy yours FD
that seems about roughly on the money..haha I'm no good at picking the winners/top 10 to be honest. You think you've got it down-packed, but in this series it just seems to throw up odd balls all over the show! |

Hats off to V8ST management and drivers who along with a few of us local competitors did a promotional visit to two schools this morning, it was fantastic to see them take time out from their busy schedules & put smiles on a lot of kids faces.

Oh dear....
STOP PRESS - McIntyre out after major practice off Championship contender John McIntyre is out of the Mike Pero Real Estate 350 after a major crash at the Powerbuilt Tools Raceway, Ruapuna early this afternoon left him with a suspected broken arm. Team mate Jono Lester spoke to McIntyre after the crash and it is thought the JMR Falcon suffered a repeat of a brake problem that had appeared in testing but was thought to be rectified. McIntyre, preparing for qualifying for the deciding round of the V8 SuperTourer championship in which he currently lies second, went through Turn 1 as normal but speared off the track at Turn 2, going straight on over the gravel trap at high speed before hitting the tyre barrier. He was conscious throughout and talking to medical rescue teams who were on the scene within seconds. Jesus, i hope he's ok. Man its been bad luck for Johnny Mac this year, in NZ and Aus. |

Ouch, that's not cool. How do they count the turns there, is the kink off the straight counted? Makes for a rather high speed off :/

Whoa...a 1.23.1 for the #93 car.
Results here... http://www.mylaps.com/results/showrun.jsp?id=2535696 nistfans prediction of a high 22 wasn't far off. Also looks like Edgell/van der Drift have found some pace, and Alex Davison is fast out of the box....nice 17 cars left to fight out the final races 2moro. |

Yes NZSTFAN, I was pretty close, maybe next year. Was pretty warm by all accounts so that may have made things a little slower. Impressive stuff from TE/CVDD after Pukekohe, Davison of course had tested before at Ruapuna |
