MGCC Snetterton

MGCC's annual visit to Snetterton. Now just one day, and will include Morgan Challenge.

Paid a visit late morning to watch the Morgan race and managed to catch up with a few folk, including bauble of this parish. Bit damp at the start to the day, apparently, but dry and a bit of October sun this afternoon. Mellow probably sums it up....

My mate, Andrew Thompson, won the Morgan Challenge overall this year and other friends (all from the self styled “Castle Donington Motor Club”, but not of this parish) , Ian Whitt and Martyn Adams, shared Andrew’s car to win the 2 driver Morgan race.

Sorry to disappoint Andy, Tony Hirst won the Morgan Aero Challenge for 2019. Andrew was awarded the Aero Trophy.

Points are awarded according to the number of entrants in each class, and Tony's Class S was always well supported, but Andrew's Class 'G' much less so.
This probably decided the title. Over the season Tony Hirst, in the works Morgan amassed 125 points, Andrew 124, however as each driver must drop three scores from their total, Tony had the best result. The driver with the highest overall score wins the Aero Trophy, but the rules do not allow the Challenge winner to take both, so Andrew as runner up is awarded the Aero Trophy. Andrew Thompson has driven brilliantly all season, and taken a number of outright wins against the bigger cars.Attachment 54046

A view many got used to, and a smiling Mr Thompson.
