Super GT class becomes: GTE, GT2 and modified GT3 GTS: GT3, but with max. one pro driver V8 Racing will definitely be back with a minimum of three cars. Likely with these drivers: - Diederik Sijthoff / Archie Hamilton - Miguel Ramos / Nicky Pastorelli - TBA (possible Bert Longin) Aston Martin Brussels / GPR Racing plans to enter one or two cars |

What a mess. BoP by time penalty still?
Too bad the Nürburgring round is during the Spa 6 Hours, would love to go to GT Open again. Oh well, who knows, I might just "coincidentally" plan a vacation to Budapest in July when GT Open races in Hungary |

Spa will be done on Saturday, so you could easily pop over to the Ring on Sunday.

Mess? Not really. Super GT will be same as this year and last year. Remember the 2012 Villois Vantage? That was a modified GT3 spec car so it could race in the Super GT class. GT2 and GTE are the same. Conclusion = it's not a mess.
Ofcourse the modified GT3 cars get BOP against the other Super GT cars. Time penalty is the replacement of the "succes ballast". because all the cars have different weights, some cars get more penalized than others if they get extra succes ballast. Therefore they have Time Penalty. |

Wasn't the Vantage a GTE car with the GT3 V12?

Of course we'll just have to see how it works out, but I don't see the need for this shake up: GT Open had a good number of cars this year. It'll only make things more complicated. |

Looking at some of the more recent pairings in the Super-GT-class this may sound ridiculous, but wasn't GT-Open an all pro/am series so far, at least in theory?

The Super GT class has had all-pro entries: Holzer-Tandy in 2012, Filippi-Montermini in 2013.
