He went straight through one of the chicanes and according to the IPO he did not "slow down enough" and so has been penalised.

Yes Mr Gore is not a happy chappy at the moment, and he kept his tongue in his mouth when Rusty interviewed him.

Funny thing is Skaife did the same thing yesterday and didn't get penalised.

Not quite... more that the car was very unlikely to slow enough and not hit Mr Ellery.... indeed it is more than likely that Mr Ingall would have had a drive thru for entering pitlane at what looked like 100 km/h over the pit lane speed limit
Quite how that car had the same issues in all 3 races is rather odd.... .. I didnt see the same issue in Mr Ambrose's car, but he was a mile back, and #10 ignore anyone that far from the front |

Is it just me, or do others think that the Stone Brothers are being hounded for trivial offences.
It is starting to look as though the Race Director (and IPO) has it in for them. |

I thought the prang where Marcos backed into the wall was very interesting. It appeared to me that he didn't trust Morris to do the right thing, so he (Marcos) hit the brakes hard to avoid going under Morris, but in doing so spun himself around.

I think sometimes it looks like one team is getting pinged more than others but it does seem to even out over time.
Ingalls pit lane entrance thing was harsh but he did look to be a little out of control and not using due care at that time. In any case, it has all certainly livened up the end of the championship. Tasmania is going to be a cracker of a meeting I think with desperation seen from quite a few contenders. |

As far as tracks go, Indy has to be the least condusive track for racing that you coulsd possibly come up with.

Its not just bad calls, yesterday showed blatant disregard against a driver that was going to sow up a championship preventing the desired Grand Finale. You got to feel for the team in question |

He did brilliantly at avoiding the accident, but it was one he was about to cause though!
Unless the other car slowed at a greater speed than normal, Ingall should have taken more care instead of flying in behind him at a speed that he was unable to slow from. I agree a drive-through is a tough penalty for such an error where he made no gain, and I believe there should be a nominal smaller time adjusted penalty for such trivial things, but until there is there is not much we can do about these things. |

The Ingal penalty was complete bull****. How you can be penalised for what he did is beyond even what the most anal of officials can come up with. If you use the pit apron/verge (what ever you want to call it) to enter the pits to gain an advantage then so the penality be applied. This is just turning into an attempt to manipulate the Championship down to a final round result so the AVESCO promoted event will get more press.
I really don't care who wins the Championship but if it comes down to some pin head, near sighted officials judgement then the series will be the worse for it. |

apart from ellery being in front of him? |

No one has really mentioned Ellery's actions in this, and I didn't tape the race, so I can't check it. I do seem to recall the commentators at the time saying that Ellery had gone into the pits slower than normal, could this have caught Rusty out?
