Not sure about that. Ron was naturally going to have a strong bond with Lewis and a highly vested interest in seeing him do very well - given how much time and money McLaren have spent on getting him to F1.

The penalty was not outrageous (could have actually been much worse).Alonso impeded a driver during qualifying.

Just like his team mate did earlier in the session. It was an intra-team dispute that needed no intervention from the FIA.

Hamilton's was a team issue (not governed by the FIA) whereas Alonso's was a sporting issue (governed by the FIA).But we've been into all that before.Some saw it has mind games,some saw it has unsporting behaviour.Only Alonso broke the rules however and two wrongs don't make a right.
