Murphy now leaves the pits, as the clouds open up over the mountain, dumping rain and hail up mountain straight and over the top, just as the leaders are coming through the chase.

In an incident remincent of his fathers 1980 rock incident, Steve Johnson hits a 'modern design table chair' while exiting the chase, the chair, which had toppled from the balcony of the chase appartments when a ****ed yuppie tripped over it, rips the right front wheel and suspension off the car......

resulting in Steven Richards hitting some australian animal, 2 YEARS IN A ROW!
Ambrose, who was following Richards, was forced onto the grass, collecting one of the VBigpond signs (due to a recent merger between VB and Bigpond) |

I don't think his tyre pressures had normalised and he was trying to reset the throttle....

It will be interesting today to see when the Holden teams elect to attach the first of their 2 allowed nitrous bottles, as mandated in the parity adjustment just a week before the big event. Judging by the start so far it seems that Dumbrell has elected to go out hard by utilising his first whereas runaway championship leader Anthony Tratt seems content to stay in touch with the leaders at this stage.

...and with the laughter coming over the radio it would seem that the Rat has also used a bottle of nitrous, albeit inhaled...

"(laughs) I should have used this when I was back at 888!!"
In the meantime, Paul gets out of the TKR cockpit and feeds some starving horses on the side of the track.. |

and don't forget those drunk, angry fans on top of the mountain, because it seems that Tony Cochrane has.
One of the said fans was heard to mutter "So where's Larry?" |

"Right here" he screams as he goes flying down the dipper in the #11 Castrol Perkins Racing Falcon, in his last ever (read: brocky) Bathurst.
At that moment the full course yellows are shown with the following commentary: "The SC, Safety Car, boards are out. We have got a replay here... Oh... thats a big one, MS, Mark Skaife, looks to have lost it down conrod, ploughing into RI, Russell Ingall. Oh and theres PD, Paul Dumbrell, and MW, Mark Winterbottom, avoiding the debris. They had better reset their throttles and normalize their green tyres." Last edited by resisturban; 15 Dec 2004 at 05:57. |

had the foresight to reset his throttle percentage because the angle of slip on his aero apackage mandated a higher than normal brake pressure when the pressures had normalised after the ambient temperature had fluctuated beyond expected levels on the out-sourced weather predictions.

Once again we have a few British drivers competing as AVESC0 loves safety cars. Leading the charge is our old mate, John Cleland, who is out on the track now once again driving the Ozemail Falcon has just been taken from behind at the cutting by the FPR Falcon, piloted by the father and son team of Alan & James Moffat.
